A READABLE FEAST: A COOKBOOK BOOK GROUP
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 6:30-8:00 P.M.

Participants bring a dish to share from that
month’s cookbook. There is a discussion
about the book while we sample all the dishes.
This month we will be reading and cooking
from cookbooks by James Beard. Copies are
available at the Circulation desk. Registration is required

The Peace Dale Library continues
its Italian movie series! Join us on
February 1st for The Son’s Room
(2002, 99 min., R, subtitles).
Director Nanni Moretti wrote the
screenplay and stars in this film about an affluent Italian
family dealing with sad events. On March 8 we will show
the Oscar-winning film Life is Beautiful, starring Roberto
Benigni (1998, 114 min., PG-13, subtitles).

AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR LECTURE SERIES

Dr. Stanley Carpenter, professor of
military history at the Naval War
College, will present a lecture
series on the American Revolution-
ary War. February 2nd’s topic is on the New York, New
Jersey, and Philadelphia Campaigns of 1776-1778. On
February 16th, the topic is the South Gambit: The Road to
Yorktown and the War at Sea. Registration is preferred by

Library are offering adult readers a
chance to meet their next great literary
love by borrowing a book without knowing what it is! At
the Blind Date with a Book display, you’ll find wrapped
books selected by the staff. Inside, you will find a Rate a
Date sheet, receive a prize for each sheet returned while
supplies last. Sponsored by the Friends of the Kingston Free
Library and the Friends of the Robert Beverly Hale Library.

other tech issues? We can help!
If you have a tech question or would
like to learn a new skill, book a 30-
minute tech tutorial with a reference librarian and get
hands-on computer help.
If you need help with a Kindle, iPad, or other tablet or
e-reader, bring your own device. For everything else, we
have library computers you can use.
Book your session by visiting or calling the Reference Desk
at 401-789-1555 ext. 108, or send an email to us at
[email protected]. Please put “Tech Help” in the subject of
the email, and let us know what project or skill you need
help with. Each session should focus on one area (email,
social media, Word, etc.), and is for one person. You must
have your necessary passwords needed to access your ac-
count or devices.
Presented by All That Matters Yoga, this free
yoga class is low impact, focusing on
stretching, breathing, and meditation.
Appropriate for all levels, even those working
with injury. Please bring a yoga mat or towel. To register

make a simple recipe. This

Fate: Stories About Growing Up in the Arab World Today
by Elsa Marston. Read the first two stories for discussion;
we’ll also talk about any others you read from the collec-
