TheU11AteamplayedtheEbominiPrimaryU11sinthedistrictnetballplayoffs,andalltheBPSgirlsweredistressedaboutthefactthattheiropponentsdidnothaveanytakkiestowear.Thecoachsaidthattheycomefromaverypoorareaandmostofthechildrensparentsareunemployed,andthereforetakkiesare
aluxury,notanecessity.TheparentsoftheBryanstonU11Ateammadedonations,andMrsLeighPenneypurchasedtenpairsoftakkiesandsocks.Thesewerethen
takentoEbomini
PrimaryinIvoryPark,wheretheywerepresentedtothenetballteam.Thegirlsweredelightedwiththeirnewfootwear!
Andinthespiritofsport,thegirlsallwentoutsidewhereaspontaneousgame
of netball broke out, eventhough they were all in schooluniform and
shoes showing thatsport
isagreatwaytobreakdownbarriers!Acrowdofchildrengathered
to watch and cheer for every goalscored.
