Monday 5 SeptemberAfter checking in at Auckland International Airport enjoy some relaxing time at the Emperors Lounge. Tonight we depart Auckland at 8.30pm and fly to Dubai.

Tuesday 6 SeptemberEarly this morning we arrive in Dubai and are transferred to our hotel for immediate check-in. Rest of the day at leisure. One night Palace Hotel Downtown (Palace Lakeview Room), overlooking Burj Khalifa Lake and adjacent to Dubai Mall.

Wednesday 7 SeptemberEarly this morning we are transferred to the airport for our 8.00am flight to London, Gatwick Airport. On arrival at 12.35pm we are transferred to Dover.

Thursday 8 SeptemberThis morning is free to enjoy Dover or relax before boarding our luxury cruise ship Crystal Symphony (Deluxe Stateroom with Large Picture Window). This afternoon settle into your stateroom and get to know the ship before we depart Dover at 6.00pm

This picturesque port easily inspired some of the greats – from its Vieux Bassin (Old Harbour) to the bare vertical cliffs of Etretat and Yport. Boudin, Courbet and Monet all discovered the inherent artistic qualities of Honfleur, still apparent along its storied shores that evoke a feeling of Normandy in centuries past. While it boasts historical clout for centuries, some of the most intriguing sites in town played pivotal roles in the epic events of D-Day. You may enjoy a tour to one of the following: Honfleur, Normandy Battlefield Tours, Claude Monet’s House and Gardens in Giverny, Etretat Cliffs or Rouen. Overnight Honfleur.

Sunday 11 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in St Malo, France at 8.30am. Within its fortified walls, this city of bustling shops, cafés and bars is home to the highest concentration of seafood restaurants in Europe. Heavily bombed during World War II, it was lovingly restored to its original splendour. The city’s top destination is the citadel, from where Corsairs would raid enemy ships in the name of the King. Be sure to take a stroll atop the ramparts for magical views, and save time for a journey to the medieval Mont St-Michel abbey. Tonight we set sail at 9.30pm.

Monday 12 SeptemberToday is spent cruising off the West Coast of France so sit back and enjoy the comforts of Crystal Symphony.

Tuesday 13 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Bordeaux, France at 11.00am. This UNESCO-designated city known as Port of the Moon due the natural shape of its harbour is celebrated for its glorious chateaux, its mouth-watering cuisine and its incomparable wines – Bordeaux is surrounded by the world’s most famous vineyards including Medoc, St-Emilion, Pomerol, Graves and Sauternes. One time the richest community and largest port in France, Bordeaux today is second only to Paris as the country’s most densely populated city. Overnight Bordeaux.

Wednesday 21 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Casablanca, Morocco at 7.00am. With visions of Bergman and Bogart filling the imagination, it’s easy to explore the French-colonial design and narrow alleyways of the old Medina, and bargain-filled souks are reminders of mysterious days past. Yet this gleaming city has a firm grasp on the 21st century and today encompasses broad palm-lined boulevards, attractive public parks and soaring high-rises. You may enjoy a tour to Rabat. Tonight we set sail at 7.00pm.

Thursday 22 SeptemberToday we arrive in Malaga, Spain at 12 Noon. See the wealth of historical treasures found in the coastal city of Màlaga. Once a major trading port, Màlaga has an eclectic mix of sites influenced by the Phoenicians, the Moors, and the Spanish. You may enjoy a tour to Granada and visit it’s famous Alhambra. Tonight we set sail at 8.00pm.

Friday 16 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Bilbao at 7.00am. Home to Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum, this bustling city epitomizes the merger of modernity and history. Gateway to the Cantabrico Sea from the plateau of Castilla, Bilbao has flourished from the middle ages as a busy port. Today, the city is renowned for its vital exuberance, as modern architects erect new buildings next to 19th-century structures. Tonight we set sail at 6.00pm.

Saturday 17 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in La Coruna, Spain at 9.00am. Legend holds that Hercules founded this city of Romanesque squares and medieval churches, and indeed, its Tower of Hercules is one of La Coruña’s most enduring symbols. Steeped in beauty, the city is renowned for its gardens, including the Jardines de Méndez Núñez, located in the center of the Pescaderia, and the Jardine de San Carlos in the Old City. Visit the Museo Arqueologico e Historico for exceptional views, and see the elaborately carved door on the church of Calle de Santa Maria. You may enjoy a tour to historic Santiago de Compostela. Sunday 18 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Oporto, Portugal at 8.00am. Oporto brings together the best of Portugal: warm sunshine, a relaxed riverside setting, grand churches, winding medieval streets, and courtyards filled with geraniums. Perhaps what Oporto is most famous for, however, is its port wine. Crafted in the neighbouring Vila Nova da Gaia district, ports from all over the region can be sampled in the lodges just across the river. Wander through historic Ribeira, the recently restored riverside district and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tonight we set sail at 6.00pm.

Monday 19 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Lisbon, Portugal at 6.00am. Discover the world’s last colonial empire, turned bustling cosmopolitan city. Lisbon has dozens of Moorish castles, pastel buildings, and white sand beaches to explore. This Atlantic-coast city perfectly encapsulates Mediterranean charm with its wine, food, and architecture. This afternoon we set sail at 5.00pm.

Friday 23 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Cartagena, Spain at 9.00am. From its ancient natural harbour where Phoenicians would trade to its Roman Empire heyday when it was known as the New Carthage, Cartagena’s enviable position on the Mediterranean has long made it one of the most important ports in Spain. The country’s Naval Headquarters is here, as are Dockyard Gate and Midshipman School. Discover ancient Roman ruins and Modernista buildings, the magnificent Concepcion Castle and a stunning City Hall.

Saturday 24 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Palma De Mallorca at 8.00am. Palma de Mallorca, rich in monuments of many ages, was founded by the Romans more than 2,000 years ago. A magnificent rose-coloured Gothic cathedral dominates the palm-fringed waterfront of its urban center. Mallorca, known as the “Island of Tranquility,” is the largest and most developed of the Balearic group. Steep mountains, serene valleys and wide plains form its varied landscape. Visit the island’s quaint villages and the monastery where George Sand and Frederic Chopin spent a winter. Tonight we set sail at 10.00pm.

All prices are in New Zealand dollars. Prices are based on payment by cash, eftpos, cheque or direct deposit only. A surcharge of 2% applies for pay-ment by Visa or Mastercard. If you would prefer to share a room we will endeavour to match you up with someone of the same gender. If we cannot, you would be required to pay the single price. A 1st non-refundable deposit of $6,000 per person is due at time of booking. A 2nd non-refundable deposit of $3,500 is due 5 October 2021. Balance due 29 April 2022. Costs are based on a group of 12 passengers. If the group falls below this number World Travellers Remuera reserves the right to cancel the tour in which case a full refund would be given. Sunday 25 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Valencia at 8.00am. Sunbathe in one of Spain’s most exhilarating cities. Valencia is a vibrant town with dynamic nightlife, outdoor activities and sports, and its “mezcl”a of architectural wonders. In Old Town, see everything from a 15th-century palaces, to recent wonders of modern art. Tonight we set sail at 6.00pm.

Monday 26 SeptemberThis morning we arrive in Barcelona at 6.00am and say goodbye to our beautiful ship and crew. Today we will enjoy a full day city tour of Barcelona including the Hill of Montjuic, where we stop to admire the views of the city, pass through the Olympic facilities of the 1992 Games including the stadium, and continue through the Universal Fair of 1929 and Plaza Espana. We then stroll through the narrow streets and medieval square of the Gothic Quarter. We’ll visit the Cathedral of Barcelona and discover the ruins of Roman Barcelona. We will then drive past the most popular street where the modernist architecture began – in this street you can buildings from Domenech i Muntaner, Puig i Cadafalch and of course Gaudi as La Casa Batlo and finish with a visit to La Pedrera. We then carry on to Sagrada Familia, the symbol of the city and Gaudi’s masterpiece. We will visit the interior and admire the unfinished work of the famous architect. We then visit Park Guell, designed by Gaudi between 1900 and 1914, it is part of his naturist and organic period. We will finish the day by touring the beaches of Barcelona. Two nights El Palace Hotel (Classic Room), situated in the centre of Barcelona, just a few steps away from the exclusive “Paseo de Gracia” the historic Barrio Gotico and the famous Las Ramblas.
