    Thomas Stone built the plantations cur rent colonialrevival-style mansion in 1936. The origina l house wastorn dorn. It measures approximately 10,000 squarefeet and is three stories tall. It houses a full kitchen,library, dining room, loggia and game room, ninebedrooms and a full-sized attic on the third oor.

    Fun fact: the 2005 blockbuster movie TheNotebook lmed at Boone Hall, depicting the

    mansion as the Hamiltons summer house.

    In addition to the mansion and Avenue of Oaks,the plantation covers 4,039.5 acres and includes

    a dockhouse overlooking the WampacheeoneCreek, stables, Seabrook cottages, and ofcourse, extensive elds for the multitude of

    crops that are still produced by the plantation.

    Boone Hall Plantation also has seasonal U-Pickelds where people of all ages can pick their ownfresh tomatoes, strawberries, peaches, and more.Boone Halls beautiful grounds are the perfectbackground for special events, and we regular lyhost weddings, banquets and family reunions. Mostrecently , actress Blake Lively and actor RyanReynolds held their nuptials at Boone Hall Plantation.

    Boone Hall has twobeautiful gardens with

    located in the front ofthe mansion on the front

    lawn. The Buttery Pavilion

    (seasonal) is a key featureof the gardens, wherecolorful butteries y

    freely and dazzle visitorsof all ages as they stroll

    through the garden.

    The son of Major John Boone planted the now-famous Avenue of Oaks in 1843. The stunning avenueis three-quarters of a mile long and lines the drivewayup to the mansion. There are about 88 live oak treesand one magnolia tree with Spanish Moss hangingbetween them, creating the picturesque settingthat makes Boone Hall the Most Photographed

    Plantation in America. Lining the Avenue ofOaks are the nine original brick slave cabins thatare believed to be built between 1790 and 1810.
