IAIS Welcomes Curious Minds
Join Dr. Lucianne Lavin, Director of Research and Collections, noted archaeologist, and author for an unforgettable learning experience on local Native American tribes. She can discuss their sophisticated belief systems, vast knowledge of physical environments, and their hidden archaeological sites that dot our landscapes. Your group can explore these and other related topics with Dr. Lavin via a PowerPoint presentation followed by a Q&A, or a short walking tour of our property ending in our replicated 16th century Algonkian village.

Native American Stories
In Native American cultures, oral storytelling teaches, guides and entertains. Enjoy the lessons and magic of these traditional stories as told by an experienced Native American storyteller. Sessions will be tailored to engage and entertain your listeners!

Visit us for a personalized group tour with one of our educators! Explore Connecticut’s 10,000 years of history. Learn about post-contact European-Native American interactions, initiate meaningful conversations of its impact on public knowledge and influences on contemporary Native American life.
Custom Craft Add-ons Available
Brush up on your practical skills with an expert crafter! Make and take home a Native American-inspired project from our wealth of workshops including beading, clay pottery, corn husk dolls, dream catchers, and moccasin making. Other options available at request. Prices vary based on materials used. To ensure availability of materials, projects must be booked at least 3 weeks in advance.
Museum on Wheels
Welcome one of our educators into your venue for a hands-on exploration of Native American culture. Your patrons will be able to learn about Native American lifestyles, environmental history, and unique innovations in tools through handling animal furs, replicated artifacts, organic instruments, and more!
PLEASE NOTE: This program requires a space to project images. If a projector is not available handouts will be provided at additional cost.
