Another great year for club & electronic music sees ‘Global Underground 2010’ bring you the definitive guide to the biggest tracks on the worldwide underground. Including a number of hot, new and exclusive floor shakers to suit your every clubbing need!

We started this very busy year in true style once again at the annual dance fest that is the WMC in South Beach, Miami with a very special shindig at the awesome Mynt club which featured none other than our very own Darren Emerson, Nic Fanciulli and Jim Rivers who all took the roof off in true GU style!

Our legendary ‘City Series’ continued to globe trot around the planet in order to bring you the very best DJ mixes from the most exotic locations…. GU36 was presented from the craziness of Bogota in Columbia and was delivered in typical full on style by the one and only Mr Emerson who gave us a feast of jacking, funky ass techno and blew the crowd away at his much hyped launch party at the trendy Gotica club in the city…

This was supremely followed a few months later by the man from UNKLE himself James Lavelle who took us to the stunning Thai capital of Bangkok. The heat of summer was in full effect and made for a ‘super hot’ party at Club 808 where James tore it up big style with his unique mix of techno meets progressive meets indie.

This is demonstrated perfectly on the stunning GU37 album which has been critically acclaimed by the worldwide media and also reached NO.1 in the iTunes chart in the US…

Our Global Underground, London residency at the world famous Ministry of Sound club saw James throw a rather large party in July for the UK launch of his Bangkok album. This superb night was actually the first time that James had played at the club for over 10 years, and let’s just say he will be back again very soon rocking that main room!!

We have been making waves in the world of television this year with some great music from GU artists Trafik being featured on the hit US show CSI – Crime Scene Investigation amongst others, watch out for their stunning new album coming to a sound system near you in 2010!!

This year also saw the relaunch of our legendary compilation series, ‘nubreed’, to a fanfare of media and internet forum acclaim with number 7 in the series coming in style from rising UK star Jim Rivers and this was followed by nubreed 8 which was expertly programmed by the Canadian uber-talent Sultan, we will be back in 2010 with some more hot nubreed mixes for you, so watch this space….

We were delighted to host a very successful GU stage at the SW4 festival on Clapham Common, London in August, where we had a top-drawer line up, which kept the capacity crowd of 20,000 smiling all day long. The line up on the day consisted of GU all-stars; James Lavelle, Nick Warren, Nic Fanciulli, Jim Rivers, Anil Chawla plus very special guest…Mr Darren Emerson!

You lucky people also got a brand new addition to the GU family which was the GU DJ series launched in March to critical acclaim by UK underground house supremo Nic Fanciulli, with volume II mixed by break beat all-stars The Plump DJs. Both released their debut mixes for the label to much delight from the GU faithful, and this talented bunch of DJs have been throwing some very special parties so far this year from LA to Vegas via New York and Ibiza, and will be on a global world tour to support these 2 releases throughout the rest of 2009 and into 2010 so don’t miss them!
