NRO. 61 / FILACP / AGOSTO 2014
WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT.Dear colleagues and friends, I begin my term as President of the FILACP with much confidence and expectation. In the event of the possible dissolution of the IPRAS, we could cons- titute the largest and most active Federation on a worldwide level. We count with the necessary talent and creativity, but we shall research and publish even more, for such purpose we have established awards with economic incentives to the best 10 works published in our official authority of scientific outreach, the Iberian Latin American Journal of Plastic Sur-gery. Such awards will be chosen per Chapters in the corres- ponding area.
Dr. María del Mar Vaquero Pérez, Director of the FILACP Journal will travel to provide publication courses to the Na-tional Societies that request these.
We will continue with the scholarships for internships and research projects provided to Residents of the Specialty, under the responsibility of the Educational Foundation.
The Esthetics Chapter run by Dr. Antonio Fuente del Campo will organize the Pre Regional Conference Courses in Guate-mala, Rosario and Santa Cruz de la Sierra in 2015 y our Bien-nial Conference on March 8 in Punta del Este, Uruguay.
During our term, 3 books will be edited: of Microsurgery, by Dr. Eric Santa María, of Fissures in Lip and Palate by Dr. Ale-jandro Duarte and of Burns, by Dr. Ramón Zapata and myself.
We will work as a team with the Chapters, Committees, Board of Directors and as we have been doing with the Executive Committee.
We expect to be transparent and receptive; also, we will accept all constructive criticism.
The FILACP belongs to all of its Members.
Yours faithfully.
