My Roots

My Father’s family immigrated from Italy in the early 1900s. They moved directly to Cleveland and are still there today. They worked their way to the middle class through mostly hard work.

My mother’s family immigrated in the early 1800s and settled land with other Swedish Christians in Topeka, Kansas.

Road BlocksSophomore year of high school I had verbally committed to the University of Akron to play soccer. In that same year I shattered my leg. Akron would no longer honor my commitment to them and chose to retract their scholarship offer.

While breaking my leg was a road block. The detour was very fruitful. I was able to excel in my studies and express myself through the arts.

At this point I almost happy I broke my leg because it had a tremendous impact on who I am today.
