SummarySymptomOne of the following error message occurs when you display quantitiesincluding units of measurement, for example:

BM302 'Internal unit &, language & is not maintained'

BM303 'For unit &, language &, no commercial unit is maintained'

BM304 'For unit &, language &, no technical unit of measure is maintained'Other termsCUNIReason and PrerequisitesEach unit of measurement has an internal language-dependent key which issaved in table T006 field MSEHI. In addition, every unit of measurement hasone language-dependent commercial three-digit (T006A-MSEH3) indicator andone language-dependent technical six-digit (T006A-MSEH6) indicator in eachof the installed languages. For various reasons (incomplete transport request, incomplete languageimport, unit of measurement created again and only maintained in onelanguage), the language-dependent indicators may not be available for everyunit of measurement in every language. This results in the error messagesdescribed.SolutionThere are several different ways of maintaining the missing units ofmeasurement.

    1. Log onto the system in the language in which the units ofmeasurement are missing and maintain the indicators using transactionCUNI.2. Run report RBZMECHK. This report establishes the consistency of thetables T006, T006A, T006B and T006C. It ensures, in particular, thateach unit of measurement has an indicator in every language. However, since the report cannot know the correct translation of an unit ofmeasurement, it only numbers missing indicators. This procedure istherefore only recommended if you have to restore the consistency of thedatabase tables very quickly. Of course, the generated numeric indicatorscan be adjusted subsequently with transaction CUNI.3. Import the indicators using a transport request from another systemwhere they are contained. Units of measurement should always beavailable in the SAP scope of delivery in client 000 of the particularsystem, for example. However, several options are possible:

    a) Create the transport request using transaction CUNI. In doing so,you must make sure that only the language-dependent indicators ofthe particular logon language are included in transport requests thatare created using transaction CUNI. You must therefore make surethat you are logged on in the correct language while creating thetransport request.b) If the source and target client are in the same system, you canuse report RBZMEREFILL from note 451720. In this case, youshould note that the report does not create any new units ofmeasurement and does not overwrite existing indicators (however, this is not important if there is no indicator for an existing unit ofmeasurement).c) Create the transport request using report RBZMETRANS fromnote 595742.

Whichever method you choose, we highly recommend that you run the reportRBZMECHK once all the corrections in the affected system are complete.
