Bounce Rate(% of people browsing home page and exiting website)

69% 61% This is a great improvement and I’m very happy about this achievement. Although 61% is still a reasonably high bounce rate, the case is specific to Rise & Shine mobile crèche website because a very large proportion of our website and information is on the home page. Nevertheless, we are still attempting to decrease this bounce rate in the long-term with increased blogging, pricing information, Case studies for clients to read and a “Get your Free Quota today” page on the website as well.

Average session duration

00:30 mins 7:49 mins Parven and I almost jumped with joy when we noticed this incredible improvement on the average session duration that has happened only within the space of 8 weeks.

This improvement means that our blogs and information we have added to our website is interesting for clients to read as well as it means that our website is becoming more of use to clients. Parven’s main questions for this year was “What medium works for marketing the mobile crèche?” And I believe that these values show that blogging, the use of infographics and increased activity on the website is definitely a medium that works to target clients.

Contracts signed from facebook

0 3 These values also show that facebook as a form of online marketing is also

efficient in achieving clients as we have gotten 3 direct bookings for clients through facebook in the past 5 weeks.

Returning Visitors 22% 45.7% Great! Shows that our blogging and website has captivated the public, that people are coming back to see potential updates, information, to review pricing or contact details.

New visitors 54% Also good. Parven and I are satisfied with this ratio of returning to new visitors.

Visitor Geographics 65% UKof which 39% in England

This I have identified as an area of improvement. The fact that 65% of visitors are from the UK means that only 65% of all visitors to the website can actually book and make use of the mobile crèche. Therefore, the fact that a further 39% are in England, means that yet another 39% cannot make use of the service as we carry out the service in Dundee only. Therefore, an area for improvement would be to make emphasis on using key words such as “Dundee” or “Scotland” to make the website more targeting to inhabitants in Scotland.

This means that together with Parven, I have achieved the Rise and Shine Mobile Crèche long-term marketing goal … within 8 weeks!

However, I have identified one major competitor on google search called“Tinies” that is another mobile crèche

This is not the end... What comes next?

Reluctant to leave...

I have buildt a good relationship with Parven and I will miss her positive attitude and energetic presence in the work office.

I am also reluctant to leave due to the amount I have learned as a marketing intern. Marketing forums, social media and local contact are forms of connection with clients that keep improving, changing and developing and I am eager to keep learning about marketing mediums and working with them on a weekly basis.

... How will I stay in touch?

I intend to stay in touch with Parven and DIWC in order to follow up on marketing progress with Rise and Shine mobile Crèche. Parven offered me the opportunity to come back any time or to write a blog at any time that I wish in order to keep working with Rise & Shine Mobile Crèche and DIWC. I'm grateful to have the possibility to keep writing blogs for the website during summer.

In order to stay updated and in touch with marketing in the 21st century, I intend on creating my own blog that I will carry through this summer 2016. I have 4 months of summer holidays so I should be able to organise my time to keep a professional blog.

The aim of the blog will be:

1. To firstly come up with a theme or idea for a blog. Some questions I will consider are:

What interests me? Who interests me? Who inspires me? Picking a theme/idea that will enhance and relate to my professional career.

e.g. If I get an internship over the summer (I have applied for 6), I will write a blog about that.

Possibly get in touch with my friend Marc Törper in Denmark that owns his own fitness company called “FitYou” and do some marketing for his company?

Who is my target audience / who am I writing to? Will I be able to continue this blog for 4 months? What will happen after the 4 months – will I still keep blogging?

2. familiarize myself even more with infographics, canva, Magisto, mailChimp, Anchor and wordpress and utilize all the tools to my best ability – so overall to develop my online marketing skills.

3. To develop and enhance my personal appearance online – it will be valuable for me in the future to stay connected via online social media and for my name to appear on online searches for key themes and key words I will use in my blog.

4. To work more with design and technology and hopefully gain further knowledge of whether marketing is the career I want to pursue or not.

I do feel confused about what my next steps at university and in my career path are… However, I am more knowledgeable in the sense that I know tthat I need to pursue more work experience

and internships within the field of marketing in other companies and industries in order to

compare the marketing position in a larger company in different industries with the marketing position at DIWC.
