A Message From Our Principal, Joseph Cocozello
With the season of Lent upon
us, as we approach the month of
April, the third marking period is
well underway and there is plenty
of teaching time remaining. In my
opinion, the third marking period
often is a great indicator of how
our students are progressing.
Although preparation takes place
throughout the year, we will now
put added emphasis on New State
Exams which will administered in
April (ELA) and May (Math).
We are excited to have had
our 2nd graders make their First
Penance and we look forward to
their First Holy Communion in May.
Second grade is always a special
year in the lives of our children.
In closing, in light of recent
events, several parents have
reached out to me regarding
safety in our school. Please know
that the well-being of our entire
staff and all of our students is the
utmost priority. I am fully
confident that our school is safe
however we intend to reinforce
proper procedures and we are
looking into ways that we can make
our school even safer.
A Message From Our President, Maria Giambrone
I can’t believe that we are three months into
this year already! Time is flying by and pretty
soon the end of the school year will be upon us!
We had a couple of events recently and they
were amazing as always. Thank you to all of those
who volunteered to make them possible. February
Fortune, hosted by the Titan League was at the
end of February. Everyone dusted off their
cowboy boots and hats and came out to support
our sports program. I heard that it was a great
time and it looked like so much fun! Also in
February, we hosted our Family Fun Ice Skating
Day at the Staten Island Pavilion. Thank you to
Kelly Merrill who put this event together. It was
another successful day. On Superbowl Sunday, we
had our Annual Mother Daughter Breakfast at
the Staaten. It was a beautiful event as always.
Much appreciation to Lisa Salaris, Diane Toomey
and Izz Marani for creating such a wonderful
Mother Daughter memory for everyone. Thank
you to Jeanne Avitto, Jennifer Manzella and
Michelle McAllister for planning a fun Mother
Son night of bowling. Many thanks to Christine
Burke and Kim Burbano for volunteering at the
event.
Coming up, we have a lot more events being
planned. We are always looking for volunteers to
chair or help out at events. Some of the fun
things that we have to look forward to are:
Grandparents Day, Mother/Son Scavenger Hunt
for the upper grades, Talent Show, Installation
Dinner, Chinese Auction and Block Party. Please
reach out if you are interested in helping out at
any events. Looking forward to the weather
getting nicer, spring flowers, and the end of the
school year!
