Prayer Box is Returning in August 2021 Our parish prayer box will again be available on the Communion rail for
individualized prayers of petition and
gratitude. Please submit your prayer
requests and place them in the box. At the end of every month, each request will appear on a list that will be duplicated and given to Sr. Tess and Bro. Jim, our Pastoral Care Associates. The list will serve as
a source for a prayer ministry for parishioners who are shut-ins and unable to attend Sunday Mass. Sr. Tess and Bro. Jim will oversee the ministry during their monthly
Communion service visits to those parishioners. Please note the scope of these prayer requests can be much boarder than those related to the St. Peregrine cancer/
illness-related prayer requests.
Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction
On First Friday August 6, Eucharistic Adoration will start after the 8:15 AM Mass and end with Benediction at 11:45 AM. We are asking anyone interested in Adoration to please sign up for a time slot or two to ensure that someone will be with the Holy Eucharist during the entire Adoration time period. The sign up sheet is in the back of church on a stand across from the Usher’s room.
Sacrament of Anointing
In August, the Sacrament of Anointing will be administered during the St. Peregrine Mass for Healing on First Friday, August 6 at 12:10 PM and on August 7 & 8 after all Masses.

A Reflection from Deacon Matthew Ferch On July 26, we celebrate the Memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Grandparents of Jesus. I know what you are thinking: Jesus had Grandparents? Yes, Jesus had Grandparents. There are only extra-biblical stories of Joachim and Anne, but they are important figures in the Communion of Saints. Like I said, there are only extra-biblical accounts of Saints Joachim and Anne. The most famous one comes from the mid-Second Century work the Protoevangelium of James. Joachim and Anne are advanced in years and are barren. They prayed hard for a child, and miraculously, they conceived and bore a child and named her Mary. In thanksgiving for the blessing they received, they dedicated their daughter to service in the Temple. They so loved their daughter that they immediately gave thanks to God because he was the giver of this blessing. One wonders what Jesus’ relationship with his grandparents was like. I like to think it was one of immense love and respect. Saints Joachim and Anne have relevance to us today. They are the model grandparents, and that is why in some places, July 26 is Grandparents Day. Our grandparents want to love us because they we are the fruit of their fruit. They have a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that they want to impart on their grandchildren. So grandparents: make sure you give extra love to your grandchildren and be willing to impart your wisdom on them. Grandchildren: make sure to honor your grandparents and heed their wisdom and experience.
