SHARING OUR GIFTS Autumn is the season for harvesting and sharing the fruits of our labors. This week’s scriptures use images of the harvest, family life, pregnancy, and investment to describe the abundant harvest in the reign of God. We discover that sharing the gifts we have been given brings eternal rewards for everyone. In the Gospel parable a master entrusts his posses-sions to three servants before going on a journey. Each is given some talents. What they do with those talents determines what the master will do with them when he returns. How about us? What are we doing with our talents? How will our Master treat us when he returns? Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.

November 19, 2017 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time “Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities.” - MATTHEW 25:21 God expects us to nurture and develop the gifts He has given us and then generously return a portion with increase. He doesn’t want us to waste or hoard the gifts He has given us; He expects us to grow our gifts, use them wisely and be generous with them. Unfortunately, many of us are not generous in proportion to all that God has given us.

November 21, 2017 From the beginning of her life, Mary was dedicated to God. She herself be-came a greater temple than any made by hands. God came to dwell in her in a marvelous manner and sanctified her for her unique role in God’s saving work. At the same time, the magnificence of Mary enriches her children. They–we–too are

temples of God and sanctified in order that we might enjoy and share in God’s saving work. -Franciscan Media

A Christmas Pasadas The “Posadas” (Spanish for “the inns”), is an Advent-time event, (traditionally held from December 16 and ending on December 24, rather being held in homes, can be held in the church, or into a one-time procession which starts at a nearby home (or homes) and concludes at the church. The whole congregation, as well as neighbors and friends, are invited to participate. The participants are divided into two groups, with one half (the pilgrims) gathering outside the church or social hall while the other half (the inkeepers) wait inside. The song can be sung in English or, even better, in both English and Spanish. The song ends with the pilgrims entering the “inn” to a joyous welcome. If you would you like to participate in the first Christmas Posada at SBCC please contact Veronica at 405-246 -8341 or Polo al 912- 202- 3746.
