    Dear Parents,

    Important Information about Class Placements

Many families wish to provide information to assist our staff in Class Placements. June is fast approaching and once again, the staff at Blair Elementary School will be gathering and sharing information in preparation for student placement in September. As professionals, the staff devotes much time, care and effort in determining September placement for each child. Sometimes, parents are able to provide the school with new information about their child.

This input should not include a request for placement with a specific teacher but rather some important personal or educational data that will assist us with our decision. This could include: • your child’s learning strengths, interests and needs and/or

their learning style. • strategies and approaches that are effective in engaging

and motivating your child, and •  peers that you believe might help your child to feel

connected, to work productively and to be a successful learner.

Please note, while we take your information into account as part of our discussions, we are not able to guarantee requests.
Should you wish to provide the school with this information, please send a letter to Mrs. Ludwig by Friday, June 1, 2018.

Sincerely, Mrs. Ludwig and Mr. Sala

    TRACK MEET

Our District Zone Track Meet for all grade 3-7 students is on

    Tuesday, May 29, 2018

“Track Attack”, to practice all the events, will

begin on April 30 and will run for two weeks.

Please send your child to school ready to be active in gym attire and proper running shoes.

April has been an exciting month for Divisions 5 and 6 and for our Grandpals at Rosewood Manor!

The students have made two separate visits with guitars in hand.  Retired Richmond teacher, Barb Newton, joined us for these performances and led both divisions through many songs.  It was wonderful to see how Rosewood residents knew many of the songs and sang along to tunes such as 'It's a Small World' and ‘This Little Light'.  The big hit was the ROCK! Musical Elvis Presley showstopper: 'Blue Suede Shoes'!  It was fun to watch some of the Grandpals really rocking to the music!

Our Blair School Community was also very excited to welcome ten Rosewood residents and three of their care givers to our April 18th afternoon performance of ROCK!  The residents were given front row seats and all were raving about the show afterwards.

On Apr. 27 (this Friday), the leadership team will be hosting an event called “We Walk For Water”, which focuses on providing people with clean and sanitary water in poor countries. On Friday, participating classes will be walking to the dyke and the leaders in charge will be teaching your child(ren) information about the water crisis around the world. Before, during and after the walk you will be able to donate money to the cause and help families without access to clean water. For every $25, you can give one person clean water for life. Our goal for this event is to raise $500, which in turn will give 20 people clean water for life! You can donate any amount in the jar in front of the office. So join us in our movement to give clean and sanitized water to people all around the world!
