• She is the most influential woman in the world
• She is the richest and most philanthropic African American of all time
Harriet Tubman
• Harriet Tubman was an African American abolitionist, humanitarian, and Union spy during the Civil War
• As a nurse during the Civil War, Tubman prepared remedies from local plants to heal the wounded
Frederick Douglass
• Frederick Douglass was a firm believer in the equality of all people
• In 1868, Douglass supported the campaign of Ulysses S. Grant
