For over seventy years, Hoskin Scientific has been a supplier of testing and monitoring instrumentation to the Canadian market. With offices in Vancouver, Burlington, and Montréal our customers are able to receive local sales and technical support in our three major departments.

Our Environmental Department provides solutions for monitoring and sampling biological and chemical parameters in the environment. Our team of environmental sales representatives and diverse product range guarantee that you will find the right products for your application. Specific areas include: water quality, water quantity, soil moisture, plant science, weather stations, indoor air quality, aquatic sampling, and oceanography.

Our Materials Testing Department offers testing equipment for soil, asphalt, petroleum, concrete and cement. Our qualified sales associates focus on providing a sophisticated range of testing equipment complying with the various test methods, ensuring that accurate and consistent test results are always obtained. Our Instrumentation Department focuses on a wide range of products including optical camera systems, transducers and transmitters, data acquisitions and loggers, signal conditioners and indicators, automation sensors and measurement systems. Fuel Lubricity Wear Test Machine - ASTM D6079; ISO 12156

The two-station Fuel Lubricity Wear Test Machine incorporates two test positions with heater pads and mounting arrangements for fuel lubricity test specimens. Load is applied manually by means of dead weights directly to the fixed ball specimen carrier by means of a loading yoke. Machine controls are limited to speed control of the drive motor to give the required frequency, temperature control of the specimen bath and test duration. Test data is limited to post test wear scar measurement only and no facilities are provided for friction force measurement.

Potentiometric Titrator - ASTM D664, D2896, D4739

Seta CFBT - ASTM D2068, IP 387 (Procedure B), IP 618

The Seta CFBT is a small scale laboratory analyser which measures the Cold Filter Blocking Tendency (CFBT) of diesel and gas oils. The CFBT predicts how diesel fuel may behave at low ambient temperatures by replicating vehicle/engine field cold conditions and testing the fuel’s filter tendency.

TANAKA’s MPC series has been designed for automatic determination of POUR POINT (PP) and CLOUD POINT (CP) with small specimen size and shorter test cycle time while securing better test precision than the conventional manual methods.

PP measurement is by “AIR PRESSURE METHOD” (ASTM D6749), and CP measurement is by “SMALL TEST JAR METHOD” (ASTM D7683).
