▼BUILDING TO BE REMOVED IN NEXT FEW YEARS

In the long-term plan, buildings with no development potential have great possibilities to be removed. The development of the landscape became possible on the site where the building was removed. Such buildings are mainly:

•use for more than 50 years; •non-historical protection relics; •low-rise

EXPANDING SCHOOLYARD|URBAN AGRICULTUREUVA LAR6020|2019 Spring, Individual Work Instructor: Matthew SibertTo reach the goal of social identity development and environment fitness, this project focuses on creating space for edible landscape by using vertical planting strategy and recycled wood to increase potential connection in the community with schools as new public centers.

HYBRID:A STOPPING GARDEN|PUBLIC SPACE NATURE EXPOSED|WATER PURIFICATION ARCHITECTURE DESIGNUVA LAR7010|2019 Fall, Individual Work Instructor: Beth MeyerIn this project, seats exist within a hybrid space: a garden which combines a bus stop and a sidewalk, creating a public space for kids and neighbors living on the both sides of the street to communicate and linger. Seats in this site are sliding along a 1.2-foot deep rail and allowing kids to manipulate and participate in where to sit.

Undergraduate Work|2016 Spring, Individual Work Instructor: Jun ZhaiThis project uses a triangular vacant lot interlaced by urban fast-tracks to create a landscape prototype with ecological water purification function and humanistic needs, increasing the suitability of urban development.
