Term 4 Week 7 Wednesday 22nd November, 2017
We have had an event filled beginning to our week! Congratulations! A massive congratulations to the Year 5 students who put together a leadership speech and delivered it to the rest of our school last week. Mrs van Buuren, Mrs Foy and I are all extremely proud of the effort and courage you each displayed on the day. We look forward to announcing our new school captains at Presentation Night. Our Classroom Our main classroom, kitchen and storage room will out of action for the rest of the year. We have significant termite damage in these rooms and the areas have been deemed unsafe for our students to be in until repairs/rebuilding is complete. Learning programs will continue in the Library for the rest of the year. I am yet to receive the scope from Assets Management regarding the details and time frame of the repairs/rebuild. When I know more, I will keep you informed. NAO Robotic Dance Competition We have been successful in gaining entry into the finals of the NAO Robotic Dance Competition to be held at the Rhodes Convention Centre in Sydney. Mrs Foy will accompany our primary students to Sydney on Tuesday where they will be programming an actual robot to dance. What a fantastic opportunity for our students! Netball and Football Day The students had an absolute blast at the netball and football day held in Barellan on Monday. The students had the opportunity to develop some new skills and spend time with a variety of students from other schools. The highlight of the
day was definitely the swim at Barellan pool which topped off a fantastic day! Mrs Rinaldo On Tuesdays in 2018 we will welcome Mrs Rinaldo. Mrs Rinaldo has had the chance to spend some time getting to know our students this week. She is extremely excited about joining us next year and is looking forward to spending more time learning with our students in the future. Bike/Scooter Day The P&C will be holding a fundraiser on Friday the 24th of November to raise money for Ningana Enterprises Inc. (a disability support service in Griffith). Students are able to bring bikes and scooters to school for a donation. Time will be allocated for students to ride their bikes/scooters on the day. HELMETS MUST BE WORN! If students do not bring a helmet to wear, they will not be able to participate in the riding of bikes/scooters. For further information, please contact Cass. Jaimee Damini Thought for the week…

HATS/Clothing/Sun safety Your child may like to take their hats home to wash and freshen up, however please ensure they bring it for recess and lunchtime. We enforce a ‘no hat play in the shade’ policy. Students also should ensure they come to school with sunscreen on, and perhaps pack a small roll on to ‘re-apply’ at lunch time. Please ensure all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Fridge Don’t forget the fridge is available for students to use over Summer months. Please discuss with your child the need
to label/identify their own lunch to ensure no mix-ups.
Class Dojo Remember to check Class Dojo to see what we have been up to in class.
50c Ice Blocks will be for sale during Term 4 on Wednesday and Friday. Please check with your child if they have an IOU. Live Life Well @ School
