The B-Mets plated two runs in the eighth inning and ended their nine game losing streak in front of a sold-out crowd of 6,481. Trailing 2-1 in the eighth, the B-Mets loaded the bases against reliever Jeff Inman. Dustin Martin brought home the tying run on a fielder’s choice and Francisco Pena gave Binghamton the lead by beat- ing out a potential inning-ending double play. Robert Carson made the lead stand and earned his seventh save with a shut- out ninth inning. Adrian Rosario had thrown a scoreless eighth and collected his first save. LAST GAME: The Binghamton Mets overcame a two-run deficit

and snapped a seven-game losing streak in a 3-2 win over the

Altoona Curve last night at NYSEG Stadium. The B-Mets plated

two runs in the eighth inning and ended their nine game losing

streak in front of a sold-out crowd of 6,481. Trailing 2-1 in the

eighth, the B-Mets loaded the bases against reliever Jeff

Inman. Dustin Martin brought home the tying run on a fielder’s

choice and Francisco Pena gave Binghamton the lead by beat-

ing out a potential inning-ending double play. Robert Carson

made the lead stand and earned his seventh save with a shut-

out ninth inning. Adrian Rosario had thrown a scoreless eighth

and collected his first save. Inman was saddled with the loss.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Greg Peavey (3-5, 5.57)

makes his 15th start of the season and first against Richmond.

New York Mets (MLB, 44-37): The Mets pounded the Philadelphia Phillies for 15 hits in an 11-1 win last night at Citi Field. Daniel Murphy

led the charge with four hits and four RBI. Jon Niese allowed one run over eight innings to pick up his seventh win.

Buffalo Bisons (AAA, 42-44): Jordany Valdespin hit a solo home run and dribbled a walk-off infield single to second to lead the Bisons

past the Durham Bulls by a 5-4 score last night in front of 15,930.

St. Lucie Mets (Hi-A, 5-8): The Fort Myers Scored six runs in the second inning and tacked on five more in an 11-2 win over the St. Lucie

Mets last night. Yohan Almonte allowed eight runs on eight hits in four innings in his fourth loss.

Savannah Sand Gnats (Lo-A, 4-9): The Augusta GreenJackets unleashed a 14-hit attack in a 10-1 win over the Sand Gnats last night.

Logan Verrett suffered the loss, allowing five runs on nine hits over five innings.

Brooklyn Cyclones (12-4): The Cyclones scored two runs in the eighth inning to break a tie game and defeat the Hudson Valley Rene-

gades 7-5 last night. Stefan Sabol went 3-for-5 with two doubles.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The B-Mets will ride into the All-

Star Break on a six-game roadtrip. They have a winning

record away from home with a 21-20 mark.

CAMPED IN FOURTH: Despite losing seven straight

games, the B-Mets held onto fourth place in the East-

ern Division. They have been in fourth since May 2.

TURNING IT AROUND: The Flying Squirrels ended June

by losing eight of their last nine games. They have

righted the ship July, entering tonight’s game on a

three-game winning streak.

AGAINST THE FLYING SQUIRRELS: The B-Mets take on

the Richmond Flying Squirrels for the first time this

season. The B-Mets went 3-3 against the Squirrels last

year, including a 1-2 mark at The Diamond. Overall

Binghamton has gone 7-6 against Richmond in their

two years of existence. Formerly the Connecticut Nor-

wich Navigators and Connecticut Defenders, the Flying

Squirrels have been a Giants affiliate since 2003.
