LAST GAME: The Binghamton Mets overcame a two-run deficit
and snapped a seven-game losing streak in a 3-2 win over the
Altoona Curve last night at NYSEG Stadium. The B-Mets plated
two runs in the eighth inning and ended their nine game losing
streak in front of a sold-out crowd of 6,481. Trailing 2-1 in the
eighth, the B-Mets loaded the bases against reliever Jeff
Inman. Dustin Martin brought home the tying run on a fielder’s
choice and Francisco Pena gave Binghamton the lead by beat-
ing out a potential inning-ending double play. Robert Carson
made the lead stand and earned his seventh save with a shut-
out ninth inning. Adrian Rosario had thrown a scoreless eighth
and collected his first save. Inman was saddled with the loss.
STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Greg Peavey (3-5, 5.57)
makes his 15th start of the season and first against Richmond.
The righty has suffered the loss in each of his last three starts.
He was tagged for five runs on eight hits over six innings in a
defeat in his most recent start against the Bowie Baysox on
June 29. The Washington native is on a four-game losing streak
and has gone winless in his last six starts. His last victory came
against the Portland Sea Dogs on May 20.

start of the year. The righty has lost his last two starts and is
winless in his last four games. The Reading Phillies scored four
runs on seven hits against him over 6.2 innings on June 29.
Westcott struck out a season-high seven and did not issue a
walk in the losing effort. His last win came against the New
Hampshire Fisher Cats on June 5. Selected in the 30th round of
the 2009 draft out of Belhaven College, Westcott is in his
fourth year with the San Francisco Giants organization and
second go-around with Richmond. He made 13 starts with the
Flying Squirrels in 2010, going 3-3 with a 5.13 ERA.
COMEBACK WIN: Last night was just the second time this sea-
son the B-Mets have won a game when trailing after seven
innings, improving to 2-37 in that situation. Their other win
when behind through seven came against the Portland Sea
Dogs on May 19 when they earned a 6-5 win in ten innings
after trailing 1-0 after seven frames.
SOLD-OUT NYSEG STADIUM: The B-Mets dug out their come-
back win in front of 6,481, their first sell-out of the season. It
was the 14th largest crowd in NYSEG Stadium’s 21-year history

2008, the biggest crowd ever.
