The pure technology group has a proven history in running successful and engaging marketing activities.

Last year, under new leadership and with a new strategy, we successfully hosted PT16; our biggest and most successful event… ever. With 11 global vendors, 16 technology sessions and 100 attendees. It was a day full of great insight, brilliant features and some great entertainment.

Our hands-on-tech area was particularly well received; the world’s leading brands such as HP, Barracuda and Huawei brought along state-of-the-art technology, including pre-releases of mobile and tablet hardware, next generation security equipment and the latest Wi-Fi beacon technology. Our guests got a ‘hands-on’ experience with the technology that’s changing the face of IT, and whether it was the latest in cloud telephony or Microsoft Azure, it was an experience that was very highly regarded by all.

PT16 was our biggest event ever; 100 customers, 11 vendors, 259 people over a full day and night. The most important thing is that our customers got the most out of it, experiencing the latest innovative technologies from participating vendors whilst also having a memorable experience. A hard act to follow? Maybe, but despite the success we are committed to making it even better this year.

This year at pt17, we’ve outlined several key technology trends that will shape the day, giving our global partners the chance to demonstrate clearly what the next 12 months will look like in the technology landscape - so get ready for some superb content.

And if that wasn’t enough, they’ll also be bringing along the worlds latest VR, Drone and Automation technologies for break-time activities – yes, you read that right. So come and join us for what is set to be our most exhilarating and innovative event to date.

The popularity of electric cars has rocketed over the last few years, with around 90,000 plug-in vehicles on the road in 2017, compared with just 3,500 in 2013. pt17 will show some of the world’s leading brands, demonstrating how they are not only revolutionising the vehicles performance and emission-free travel, but also the safety of the next generation of road vehicles through in-car technology.

Almost 50 percent of companies are using the Cloud – not surprisingly, since the technology not only reduces costs, but also enables ‘working from anywhere’ and is more flexible. Organisations using the Cloud just press a button to roll out the latest software update. pt17 will give its visitors a unique overview of the significant opportunities offered by the Cloud and show how organisations of any size can take advantage of ‘the world of many clouds’.

IT infrastructure has previously relied on interoperability between network, compute, storage and control but this approach adds complexity and cost. A converged design can reduce recurring costs for power, cooling and space whilst making support much easier through a ‘single pane of glass’. Until just a few years ago, drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) were restricted to military use. Today these flying machines are a mass phenomenon. By 2018, the total number of active virtual reality users is expected to reach 171 million. Revenue generated from virtual reality products worldwide is forecast to reach £4 billion by that time. Numerous IT companies and start-ups are eager for a piece of the pie and are working on a wide array of solutions. And indeed, there appear to be no limits on the commercial benefits attached to using VR. pt17 will feature the latest and greatest in VR.

pt17 hosts many new attractions that have never been featured at any of our events before. These attractions include; BMW, Tesla and VW, leading drone manufacturers and suppliers, Microsoft HoloLens, an entire main-stage focus and further entertainment. pt17 is set to be a great event, full of the world’s best technology.

We have organised a new automotive feature. BMW, Tesla and VW will all have their latest electric cars on-site, adjacent to the main marquee and discussion is ongoing as to what will be offered on the day but demos, test drives and a prize (Tesla Experience) is expected.

This year pt17 is going to be different. To get the most out of it, it’s important we get the right balance between business and fun. The event format will include several breaks where you can engage in activities focused around the latest technology; this will include drone racing, VR and BMW/Tesla/VW experiences.

Last year we awarded attendees with prizes at the closing ceremony for participation in the ‘pure Cluedo Competition’. The ‘Cluedo Competition’ ran throughout the day obliging guests to ask technical questions of each vendor to build up clues and solve a puzzle to win a prize. This year, we’ll have a similar competition based around a ‘pure monopoly’ theme. Great prizes will be up for grabs.

Last-year’s Blondie tribute act was a ‘hit’ with our guests, vendors and ptg staff alike, contributing to the success of the evening. Mirroring the recent superbowl, pt17 will feature a UK renowned Lady Gaga tribute act to look forward to in addition to a magician, juggler and fire-eater.

Leading drone manufacturers, suppliers and enthusiast clubs will attend and showcase their most popular and upcoming products. The Chapelthrope Hall grounds provides a great area to showcase these types of products. pt17 will also include a form of ‘drone racing’ as seen by brands such as Red Bull etc. A prize will be awarded at the closing ceremony to the lucky winner.

Microsoft will be demonstrating the HoloLens, the only one in the UK at time of writing. This feature will be available to guests to try in breaks/lunch times of the event, another attractive, innovative and exciting addition to the event.

This year’s event will take place on the main stage to ensure you don’t miss a thing.

All presentations and demos will focus on the event themes so, for example you’ll see Barracuda, Bitdefender and Mimecast collaborate on the security theme. Our aim is that you get the most concise, honest and engaging view of the hot topics.

This year pt17 will be full of things to see and do. With a DJ for the night and a Lady Gaga tribute act to look forward to the night will be full of energy. Expect to see a magician, fire-eater and juggler too for peripheral entertainment.

An after party, beginning immediately after the day time activities close will be a family occasion. We encourage all attendees to bring their party faces and families along, especially the kids. The entertainers will stay for the evening and bouncy-castle, bouncy-slide and bucking bronco will be set-up. We have a special live musical act booked for the evening and maybe even a ‘home-grown’ support act too so, look forward to a fun filled after party.

The bar will be free and the night will be great…again.
