BIG FISH WIKI PROJECT
Getting Started: In this project you will be analyzing an aspect
of Tim Burton’s Big Fish, and representing your ideas and
impressions on a class “wiki” page. Choose ONE specific element to
explore from the “BIG FISH ELEMENT” list on the next page, then add
your explanation/interpretation to the appropriate section on the
class wiki site. The objective is to provide an original and
thoughtful
discussion on these elements for other class members to read and
discuss—and eventually use in preparation for the unit test.
Postings will be made on a Google Doc which will be sent out to
you shortly.
These analytical pieces should be in a final draft form, and
will be evaluated in terms of THOUGHT AND DETAIL & WRITING
SKILLS (see the “General Writing Rubric” for specifics). Ultimately
the project will make up part of your INQUIRY mark for the course.
The class wiki site will become an excellent repository of
knowledge—and thus an important page to help you study and prepare
for the unit test on the film.
Please also add a visual to your particular elements–I have
added a mini library of pictures from the film on the class
Wordpress site at cche30.wordpress.com. Remember: the whole
intention of the site is for the class to collectively wrestle with
the deeper meanings of the film. Build the site and have fun!
