The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya is awarded with the National Prize of Architecture and symbol of
the contemporary Barcelona.
Located in the prestigious Avenida Diagonal, the most important financial and business district of the
city. And 15 min. drive to the Airport.
The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya has 39 halls and rooms of varying sizes.
The grandiose Auditorium can hold 2,000 people. The maximum exhibition space is over 4,000m² with a
capacity for banquets catering for up to 3,000 diners.
Made of fine and height quality materials, the beauty, harmony and simplicity of its structure is
complemented by the great functionality of the modular spaces.
The Palau has a Professional Service Department specialized in providing a wide range of services in
order to fully accommodate any programs requirements. Relying on the best technology and a highly
qualified team ready to assist in creating unforgettable and unique events.
Communicated through spectacular gardens dating from the 19th century, the Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos
I 5* is part of the same Complex, offers 432 bedrooms and wide range of on-site facilities; four dining
venues from casual to gourmet, a pool area with capacity up to 1,000 pax, and two additional marquees
for 250 and 500 people. The entire complex is one of the most outstanding urban settings in the world.

Brief Description of Facilities:
Located by the sea, the CCIB (Barcelona International Convention Centre) is an emblem of
Barcelona’s avant-garde architecture.
The CCIB, with its modern, versatile and functional building of 100.000sqm, ceilings up to 12m high
and a capacity to host up to 15,000 delegates, was designed to give more prominence to light.
It consists of two buildings of a great architectural value, the Convention Centre and the Forum
Auditorium, both joined by an underground walkway.
The venue, which was inaugurated in 2004, is equipped with the latest technology and offers a large
range of top-quality services that can be adapted to host all kinds of national and international events.

NOTES TO THESE PRICES
Included items and additional charges:
The prices of rooms contracted during 2016 for future years are subject to annual increases
based on IPC (the Catalan Price Index).
The official timetable is from 08 am to 08 pm. Extra hours will be invoiced separately.
The client needs to plan into the event scheduled the correct timing for the set-up and
dismantling for the event. The spaces reserved for set-up or dismantle will be charged at 70%
of the event day fee.
The rooms/spaces rental prices include: meeting room furniture (chairs, tables and platform of
20/40cm, whilst stocks last), set-up according to the use of the room (theatre, school, U shape,
cabaret) and the audiovisual equipment already installed in the room (Ceiling mounted Screen
and ceiling set PA system speakers).
The CCIB offers the following services in exclusivity, these services are not included in the space
rental fee:
o Security, F&B, Sanitary Services, Internet and Mobile Connections, Maintenance Staff,
Rigging, set-up and supply of electricity power, furnitures, Audiovisual, Expo, Hostesses
as well as Public Liability Insurance.
Services will be quoted according to characteristics of the event.
The use of the Entrance Hall to install any kind of set-up will be charged 2.000 euros a day,
allowing you to use maximum 1.000m2. This fee will not be applied in the event that the space
will only be used as Hospitality desk.
As a guideline, common areas (Foyers) are free of charge when they are used as a public
area/hall way and/or for F&B services. Should any of the common areas have a use assigned to
them that converts this space into more integral part of the event, a rental fee of 3 euros/m2
will be applied to the area assigned to the clients use
General conditions:
This quote does not imply the reservation or preferential option of the spaces offered, it is not
contractual and the holding of the event is subject to the signing of the Event Hosting
Agreement.
The CCIB reserves the right to modify the quoted prices in the case of change, cancellation or
substantial modification of the spaces required.
The CCIB reserves the right to market the rest of the spaces not reserved in this offer.
In accordance with Law 28/2005 on the supply, consumption and publicity of tobacco products,
it is forbidden to smoke in the CCIB.
The price for venue includes standard and basic Logistics and Cleaning Services

CATERING FACILITIES

CCIB has its own in-house F&B service provider which operates exclusively in the 3,000 m2 of kitchens
and catering spaces throughout the Centre.
Average cost of a cup of coffee available at convention centre it depends on the number of delegates.
Only beverages 30” coffee break cost from 3.60 € to 7.65 € + VAT.

lunch. Please find below an example of working lunch:

TRANSPORTATION TO CONVENTION CENTRE

From Urquinaona station (city centre) by the metro yellow line (L4) that leads directly to the CCIB
by Maresme-Forum station.
You can also get to the CCIB by bus: lines 7 (from the city centre), H16 and tram: Forum station.

4. SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME
About how many Symposia, Workshops etc. will take place?
We are thinking on a 4 days congress, from a Wednesday to a Saturday. The timetable would be from 9
a.m. to 7 p.m.
It would be two main lectures or plenary sessions (keynote speakers) and 4 to 5 simultaneous sessions,
in rooms with capacity of 80-100 people.
The poster session will be located at the main hall or at the space where the catering is served.
The program would have, from a general and provisional perspective:
Around 10 pre-congress workshops
During the congress, per day:
Two poster sessions, morning and afternoon
8-10 in-congress workshops
18-20 symposia
2-3 panel discussions
2-4 key-note speakers
How will be the relation between paid workshops and free workshops/symposia?
Pre-congress workshops will be paid for, as well as some in-congress workshops (maybe around 20% of
the total in-congress workshops). The majority of in-congress workshops will be included

5. GENERAL INFORMATION
CLIMATE
Please describe the climate in September
We have a very enjoyable temperature and sunny weather in September, around 29ºC – 20ºC. Even
if it’s not as hot as in July and August, you have guaranteed warm sunshine on most of the days,
with an average of nine hours of sunshine per day. Precipitation is generally low this time of the year
(as it’s most of the year...).
The average temperature of the sea is still 24ºC, which is still warm enough to have a nice bath at
the beach.
SAFETY ISSUES
Are there any safety issues that delegates should take into consideration i.e. crime, international
issues, etc
Barcelona is a very safe city. It has one of the lowest crime rates among European cities. However,
it’s sadly known by its frequent pickpocketing. In the past year, though, the authorities are making
an effort to work on that and the statistics are rapidly improving.
6. LOCAL SUPPORT

Our society (SCRITC) has about 280 members, but we would choose the same formula we used at the
Barcelona World Congress 2007. We would take temporary members, from all over Spain and from other
societies, with whom we can sign some collaboration agreement

What support would be available from national EABCT association(s) and other professional bodies
SCRITC could assume the organization and scientific committees. Nevertheless, we would be happy to
repeat the formula of the World Congress 2007, in which we handled the local committees, which were
dependant from the committees designated by the EABCT board.

What support would be available from the national and City Tourist Boards and from the Convention
centre
Barcelona Convention Bureau's support and advisory services are completely free of charge, which allows us to be completely neutral and impartial.

The Professional Association of Psychologist in Catalonia and Spain (COPC, COP).
We also have some agreements with several professional associations: Catalan-Balearic Psychology
Association, Catalan Psychiatry Society and Catalan Society for Child Psychiatry.
These three societies are members of The Medical Sciences Academy, which is the most important
organization, which unites different profiles of health professionals.
We can also ask for the collaboration of ANPIR (National Association of Clinical Psychologists) and the
Barcelona Professional College of Physicians; both associations with whom our society has good
relationship with but doesn’t have collaboration agreements
