The Graphic Design Program is lookin for students who demonstrate the abilit to investigate, define, and solve visua communication problems, to determin design priorities, do research, conceptu- alize and evaluate alternatives, coordinat project elements, and communicat concepts utilizing the common tools o the profession from concept sketches t comps. Because the Professional Design Pro-gram is highly demanding, it is necessary that each student who plans entry a the upper division level, Bachelor of Fin Art Degree, submit a portfolio for facult review. The portfolio is an advising an admission procedure to assure that students are prepared for advanced classes The Graphic Design Program requires completion of the following course before submitting portfolios. (SJS courses or equivalents) Art 24 or ANI 24 DsGD 63 DsGD 83 DsGD 99 DsGD 100 Portfolio format All class projects from DsGD 100 Any two (2) project from DsGD 99 Unofficial Transcripts (All colleges) Information For Evaluation Form Stamped self addressed #1 envelop All projects must be labeled and submitted in a 17"× 22"× 2" black Dura-Tote V419H portfolio, no exceptions, (available in the Spartan Bookstore). Please attach project labels to the bottom right-hand corner on the back of the each print. Name, phone number, and address label should be attached to the upper right-hand corner (long side with flap) of the portfolio cover. Transcripts are part of the portfolio application. You must have transcripts for submission along the other materials. Transcripts, Information Form, Evaluation Form, and self addressed #10 envelope must be enclosed in a 9.5" × 12" manila file folder. Place a label on the top (longer side) along the right-hand corner. Transcripts, Information Form, and Evaluation Form must be submitted to Remy Thompson, Design Department Office Coordinator, in Art 120 on or before December 4, 2017. Where to submit your portfolio Portfolios will be collected by each instructor teaching a DsGD 100 section on the last day of instruction. Where to pick up your portfolio Portfolios must be claimed within the first three (3) weeks of the Spring 2018 semester from your DsGD 100 instructor. You will be mailed the results of the Review as soon as possible.
