1.1 Car Park and Entry

• Resurface car park, provide line-marking and clearly displayDDA car parking places;

• Incorporate WSUD treatments for runoff through integrated useof native rain-gardens;

• Provide timber bollard fencing and placement of rocks tocontain car park space;

• Provide clear and safe pedestrian access through car park tostart of Mt Ettalong lookout nature trail;

• Minimis e removal of tree and vegetation within area;

1.2 Water Reservoir

• Remove existing fence and replace with Timber Batten orPerforated Corten Steel Screening fence. Ensure adequatevertical spacing / perforations so visual surveillance throughfence is maintained;

• Opportunity to incorporate endemic vertical climbing plants toblend fence better with natural surrounds.

1.3 Trail and Furniture • Retain alignment and layout of existing granitic sand path;

• Re-level, resurface and grade path to ensure safer accessthroughout trail;

• Provide robust Way-fi nding & Information Signage at keylocations shown as:

• Seated rest stops are provided at various locations along thetrail;

• Ensure a variety of seating to allow for all ability access,backrests, arm rests, picnic and fl exible bench seating.

1.3 Lookout 01 (Southern)

• A new fencing arrangement that meets Australian Standards,the safety issues of the site and the aesthetics (i.e. railingconfiguration) of the site will be installed at this location.

• Images displayed are to provide examples of fencing optionsonly.a phrase written in dialect and etched in timber etc.

1.3 Lookout 02 (Eastern)

• Hexagon in form provides Wayfi nding distinction betweenLookout 01 (southern);

• Timber decking (fl ush with gravel) leads out to the lookout –and steps up as a smaller viewing platform. Integrated seatsare then built into the edges of this decking, with arm rests andbackings;

• Two separate angled seat plinths with backings and armrestprovide wide views out to the south east / east & north east;

• Steel mesh surface fi nishes fl ush with the timber decking, andprovide a light touch surface, that fl oats on-top of the rockplatform;

• Steel rod balustrades provide a contemporary, lowmaintenance material that safely allow people to hold andenjoy views;

• Opportunity to include Indigenous and Flora / Faunarepresentation in surface fi nishes and furniture items. Eg.Stingray referenced in Balustrade handrail or a phrase writtenin dialect and etched in timber etc.

1.3 Cultural Representation

• Will require in-depth Indigenous consultation andcollaboration;

• Opportunity to refl ect Indigenous site signifi cance throughintegrated detailed design
