In spring 2008, Astra Airlines, the first Greek airline which had its basis on 'Makedonia' state-owned airport of Thessaloniki came into being by making a life dream come true. This summer, after six years, with 10.000 flights and over half million passengers, we intensify our efforts to meet to your demands the best way possible and reciprocate the trust given to us.

For the summer of 2013, we connect for fourth conse-cutive year the 'heart' of Northern Greece, Thessaloniki, with 12 Greek islands, 12 summer destinations. We expand the regular international flights to over 30 destinations. We keep promoting Greek Tourism by transferring foreign visitors with charter flights.

And of course, we are concerned about humans: our colleagues, technicians, the crew and first of all you, our passengers. This is why we express our gratitude with deeds: we give you the opportunity to travel with money-saving fares, upgraded electronic services and always the biggest smiles!

In spring 2008, Astra Airlines, the first Greek airline which had its basis on 'Makedonia' state-owned airport of Thessaloniki came into being by making a life dream come true. This summer, after six years, with 10.000 flights and over half million passengers, we intensify our efforts to meet to your demands the best way possible and reciprocate the trust given to us.

13A festival of unique cultural chara-cter will be held in Athens from June 28 to 30, 2013. It is the 1st Bol-lywood and Multicultural Dance Festival in Greece that will take place under the auspices of the In-ternational Dance Council (CID-UNESCO) and will be organized by the Artistic Studio Oriental Expres-sion in cooperation with the Indo-Hellenic Society of Culture and De-velopment. A festival of unique cultural chara-cter will be held in Athens from June 28 to 30, 2013. Gastronomy in SantoriniThe cartoon exhibition titled Gas-tronomy in Santorini, which is being organised by the Municipality of Thi-ra and the Estia Cultural Centre (Estia Pyrgos Kallistis), is gaining inter-national popularity. The exhibition forms part of the 2013 Year of Gastronomy in Santo-rini initiative and displays 120 sket-ches by 69 cartoonists from 19 coun-tries. I pick out the festi-val on Sani Hill - some moonlit nights are really fascinating, the Sea Festival in Moudania, the fe-stival of Cassandra in Siviri's Hill, the polymorphic manifestations "Afytos of Athitos" etc. A series of festivals in the villages give the ori-ginal color of Halkidiki, which is ob-viously necessary in a tourist area. Culture, however, does not mean only festival celebrations and e-vents. This land has much to tell of its tumultuous past. A past that goes back centuries. Moreover let us not forget that here in the cave of Petralona was disco-vered the Arhanthropos, the of-ficial earlier appearance of the human species on the planet.
