In summer 2013 we had many reasons to celebrate: we celebrated the increase in the number of our flights by 15%, we celebrated the increase in passenger movement by 30% and along with you and our collaborators, we celebrated our fifth birthday. I would like to particularly stress the con-tribution of our collaborators: Astra wouldn't be here and certainly would not have this as-cending course unless each one of tried their best and was so willing to offer his services. In spite of the difficult times, we prove that if we work all together we are able to succeed! It is not coin-cidental that in the history of civil aviation in Greece, Astra' is the third company that cele-brates five years of operation! We were really touched, encouraged and sup-ported by your compliments that helped us stretch our wings and invest in developing mar-kets: By the end of 2013 Astra Airlines will start flying regularly twice a week from Athens to Erbil, Northern Iraq.

We are trying and we hope for a better 2014!

From February 26 to March 15 in Badminton Theatre and from February 12 to 23 to Thes-saloniki Concert Hall. The musical director is Trevor Nunn and the choreographer is Gillian Lynne. Cats is composed by the top musical dire-ctor Andrew Lloyd Weber, and is an explosive bridging of music, dancing and poetry in the history of musicals. The music combines ele-ments of jazz, pop, music hall and rock, while many songs have their own character, with memory being the most famous song recor-ded by some of the most important inter-preters of the 20th century. The story of this theatrical musical, Cats is based on a poems collection by T.S. l'Atelier by Jean Claude Grumberg, the masterpiece of the con-temporary French theatre will be played in the National Theatre of Nothern Greece for the very first time in Greece. The success of the play, worldwide, placed its creator among the greatest con-temporary theatre authors.l'Atelier travels with humor and emotions through the memories of post-war Paris. It is the microcosm of a world gazing at the fu-ture with optimism though living the hardships of daily life. The performance, under the contemporary approach of the di-rector Yannis Iordanidis, aspires to seek the analogies of post-war France with the present times and redefine major history events.Moni Lazariston -Socratis Karantinos scene, opening 18th Octo-ber. www.ntng.gr

If we look for some infor-mation about this remote and unknown destination, first of all, we should observe the paradox, that this particular area and the city of Sochi itself enjoy a mild cli-mate for most of the year and that the Black Sea waters are warm and attrac-tive to swimmers until, at least, begin-nings of October. These climatic condi-tions are, of course, an oxymoron, for the organization the city is meant to host. the cost of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, and, possibly, it is an answer to whether everything will live up to the ex-pectations on February 7, 2014. I do be-lieve, there should be no doubt about that. Sochi will be ready, its people work in a feverish mode even stocking huge quantities of snow in order to be sur-prised, they promise that these 22nd Winter Olympics will be unprece-dented as regards its organization, in-stallations and spectacle. One of the biggest disadvantages for the ports amateurs planning to visit Sochi is the lack of international direct flights to this capital of the Winter Olym-pic Games. One can fly from Moscow to Sochi by local airlines (S7, Aeroflot). It is forecasted that one-way flight will cost about 130-180 dollars. Another solu-tion, following a different logic, is the train, of course, but, if you enjoy com-fort and amenities, the cheapest choi-ce is the platzacard (ordinary seat gi-ving the possibility to sleep) starting from 80 dol. For a one-way trip. Not so cheap. I would say. The coup seat with a decent level of service will be starting from 160 dol., and the deluxe seat will cost 330 dol, this will certainly be a somewhat different experience since the passenger who will chose it to travel will make the inevitable associa-tion with a trip to the past, the past of the legendary Orient Express. Prices mentioned here are only indicative, as rule, the closer we get to the dates of the event, the more expensive they will be.
