13. EXCAVATION REQUIRED WITHIN PROXIMITY OF UTILITY LINES AND WITHIN THE TREE PROTECTIONZONE OF TREES DESIGNATED TO REMAIN SHALL BE DONE BY HAND. CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE
1. THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO CONSULT WITH THE CITY AND COMPLETE A CONSTRUCTIONSEQUENCING PLAN THAT PROVIDES MINIMAL DISTURBANCE TO THE BERMONDSEY WASTETRANSFER STATION SITE OPERATIONS.
2. THE WORKS ARE TO BE SEQUENCED IN ISOLATED WORK AREA AS DEFINED IN TABLE 1. THECONTRACTOR SHALL ONLY APPLY A SINGLE WORK AREA AT ANY TIME, EXCLUDING AREA A AS THIS ISTHE STAGING AND LAYDOWN AREA. ACCESS TO A CONTRACTOR WORK AREA SHALL BE RESTOREDPRIOR TO MOBILIZING TO A NEW WORK AREA. ANY DERIVATION FROM THE CONSTRUCTIONSEQUENCE IS SUBJECT TO THE CITY'S APPROVAL. WORK AREAS H AND I ARE NOT OUTLINED ONC-102 BUT THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MINIMIZE WORK AREA AND DISTURBANCE TO SITE OPERATIONSAS AGREED UPON WITH THE CITY.
GRADING & ROAD RESTORATION
1. WHERE NEW ASPHALT MATCHES EXISTING ASPHALT, GRIND EXISTING ASPHALT A MINIMUM OF300mm WIDE AND 4Omm DEEP FOR KEYING. APPLY HOT RUBBER SEALING COMPOUND INACCORDANCE WITH OPSS 1212. ALL SURFACES TO BE TACK COATED WITH SS-1.
2. PRIOR TO PAVING, REMOVE UNSUITABLE MATERIAL AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER.3. GRANULAR ROAD BASE SHALL BE COMPACTED TO 100% STANDARD PROCTOR MOISTURE DRY
DENSITY.4. REFER TO TORONTO STANDARD SPECIFICATION 310 FOR PAVEMENT COMPACTION REQUIREMENTS.5. SET EXISTING AND PROPOSED MANHOLES, CATCHBASINS, VALVES, ETC. TO BASE ASPHALT IF TOP
ASPHALT WILL BE PAVED AFTER THE UPCOMING WINTER AND RAISE THEM PRIOR TO PLACING TOPASPHALT .
6. SAW CUT EXISTING PAVED SURFACES FULL DEPTH AND IN STRAIGHT LINES, WHERE PROPOSED ANDEXISTING PAVED SURFACES MEET.
