Also present was Superinten- dent Stephens and Board Secre- tary Rhiannon Tessum. President Kelsey called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. Five members answered roll call. Allee made the motion to ap- prove the agenda as presented. Seconded by Stamps. Motion carried 5-0. Discussion took place over the ADA Improvement Plan and Fi- nancial information. Motion to adjourn at 5:51 p.m. was made by Warren and sec- onded by Grace. Motion carried 5-0. Regular Board Meeting Members Present: Amy Kelsey, Kelly Allee, Pam Grace, Gina Warren and Becky Stamps. Total revenue included $17,543,863 in net patient service revenue and $871,264 in other operat- ing revenue. Net nonoperating revenue was $427,363 which was comprised of $30,280 in investment income; $1,290,927 in county tax revenue; $19,818 in noncapital gifts; $36,097 in rental income; and $949,759 in interest expense. Atlee and Walker Augustin from St. Joe were Saturday overnight guests of their grandparents, the Abarrs. Ruby King and Rick Morse were Sunday visi- tors at Carpenters. Jennifer and Jesse Cornell and Tom Hos- field from Des Moines were weekend guests at Gary and Linda Hosfield. George Hosfield was a Sunday visitor and they all went to Stephanie and Randy Hosfield’s for Christmas dinner. Bruce and Kris Quick hosted the Quick family Christmas celebration on Saturday with all of the family present. Rebecca and Cliff Smith and sons, Louden and Calvin Main were Saturday overnight guests at Ginny and Bill Quick’s. Last Sunday Ginny and Bill Quick went to watch Kaden Smith in a Lego League Tournament in Johnston. Bill Quick and Kaden went to Ames to an Iowa State wres- tling match Sunday. On Wednesday Bill and Gin- ny went to Des Moines to visit with Ginny’s sister, Phylis Mathany. Matthew Shervheim from Des Moines and Laura Henry from Stuart are here visiting Jan and Melinda Shervheim. Pe- ter Shervheim and Steven Henry from Stuart arrived on Sunday for the holi- days. Cindy Snethen hosted the local Red Hatter’s group on Tuesday for Christmas with Debbie Gray, Donna Melvin, Peg- gy Overholser, Meredith Dredge and Kathy Coul- son present for brunch. Kay Hove, Mary Kath- ryn Gepner, Nancy Roe, Ann Smith and Bobbi Bainum had lunch togeth- er on Monday at Jamie’s in Mount Ayr. Joe, Gina, Maya and Eli Bainum from Cameron were Sun- day overnight guests at Bobbi Bainum’s. mealsite. What a wonderful week this past week was for the mealsite! Monday found the Community Singers from the Lenox, Clearfield, and surrounding areas present bringing their Christmas program of Christmas carols. As al- ways, their program was excellent. In their group this day was their direc- tor, Donna Smithson, plus Mary Weaver, June Ir- vin, Wilma Hughes, Bea Lamb, Wanda Campbell, Joyce Ridge, Mary Spur- rier, Carol Rogers, Verla Monk, and Ann Robison. Tuesday found the Hap- py Kitchen Band present with their selection of Christmas carols. Band members this day were Carmene James, Rose Campbell, Rose James, Dick & Virginia Walden, Genevieve Roach, lona Triggs, and Bonnie Manders. We can’t forget nutri- tion during the holidays. Tuesday information was shared about “Inflama- tion,” thanks to helpers, Virginia Walden and Rose Campbell. Friday was the meal- site’s Christmas. What a fun day it was! Ellen Kaler worked very hard to put together a very mean- ingful program of music and readings for the day. Under Ellen’s direction, program was led by the Friday Singers present, which included Dick & Virginia Walden, Les Kal- er, Pat Reiff, lona Triggs, Genevieve Roach, Leona Driskill, and Kenneth Scherer with participation from those in the audi- ence. Following the program, all dined on a special ham menu topped off with dutch apple pie for des- sert. A special visitor, Santa Claus stopped in as all were finishing their meal. He visited personally with everyone and left treat bags for all before he wished all a Merry Christ- mas and journeyed on his way. Several enjoyed a grab bag gift exchange. Bingo was played to round out the day. The next meal at the mealsite will be served Friday, December 28, due to the holiday season. Hickory Grove Vickie Jeans Rose James, Kevin James, Neil and Irma Johnston and Susie Catan- zareti were among guests of Ronnie and Jeannie Johnston in Norwalk for a pre-Christmas gathering of Johnston family on Sat- urday the 15. Wednesday, Joe and Susie Catanzareti hosted a fifth birthday cel- ebration for their grand- son, Adrian. Rose James, Adrian’s family Joe, Lind- sey and Joslyn Catanzareti and grandparents, Joe and Susie Catanzareti, joined in the fun. Rose and Susie went to Sunday worship services at the Advent Christian Church in Vil- lisca and had lunch at the Ice House in Clarinda on the way home . JoKaye Shields hosted a family Christmas on Saturday night. Those attending were Cricket Waske, Josh and Amanda Waske, Jesse, Ella and Emerie, Rod and Stacey Shields, Aaron Shields, Aleha and Harper Whit- tington, Andy, Tara, Tay- lor and Madison Shields, Pete and Amy Shields, Melissa and Cash Shields, Brennan Shields and house guest, Bill Shields from Sioux Falls, SD. John and Rose Campbell called on JoKaye Sun- day afternon. Her supper guests that evening were Ed and Kathy Shields, Bill Shields and Joe, Amanda, Riley and Maggie Jo Waske. Tyler Hanawalt en- joyed his first time carol- ing in Mount Ayr with the Boy Scouts Tuesday eve- ning. Charlie and Vickie Jeanes were Thursday supper guests of the Hanawalt family. Char- lie and Vickie stopped at Lila and Maurice Craig’s home Saturday morning as they went to Bethany for breakfast and shop- ping. They enjoyed supper Saturday night with Larry and Mary Ellen Kimble at their home. Coffee With The Girls Linda Bell News from Clearfield As I write this, it is Christmas evening day, it is here. The long awaited day. Most of us have been doing things all month getting ready for this and some are already done with it, have had their family get together. With so many extended family, it takes a lot of planning to get all that done. What a great way to end a year, have the big- gest celebration of the year. Hopefully we can all look back on past times, like when we were kids and how excited we were for this day. And then when our kids were little and we could give them great memories of the Christmas Holiday. And now I am into great grandkids and watching my grandkids with kids of their own and everything keeps going on. Friday evening we were invited to “Excel’s” Christmas party by our daughter, Darla and son- in-law, Doug. It was in the restaurant in Diagonal and everyone had a great time and had great food. At the coffee table Thursday and Friday we had our little gift ex- change and shared what we were all doing for our family get togethers. Vaunciel had hers Sat- urday with 42 there. She’s got a lot of great grand kids, so lots of noise and activity. Bonnie is going to her grandkids, Melba’s will be this weekend some- time. Ours will be on Fri- day evening but will have a house full from Christ- mas day until Sunday. Our house will be rocking. Closing with: Merry Christmas to ya all and remember to just sit and watch all the kids have fun, making memories. We can clean it up and put everything back when they are all gone again. As I write this, it is Christmas evening day, it is here. The long awaited day.
