THE DETAILS:

• Designer Entry Forms must be received by no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 30, 2018 to be considered.

• You are welcome to submit as many garment concepts as you like. You will recieve notification of which

garment(s) are selected by July 5, 2018.

• For selected garments, final design concepts and finished garment images (two images at 300 dpi or higher

resolution) will be due September 1, 2018.

• The SHIFT committee will narrow down the Designer Entry Forms, selecting 20 garment concepts.

Please apply early to increase your chances of being included in the show.

• Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three designers/design teams:

$1,000 for Best in Show, $500 for Runner Up, $250 for Third Place)

• Garments will be judged based on the following five characteristics:

Innovation, Whimsy, Level of Difficulty, Quality of Construction, Runway Presence

• A People’s Choice trophy will go to the the audience favorite!

• Garments can be simple or ornate, rough or refined, silly or serious.

• Garments must be made of at least 75% recycled or reused materials.

• Each designer will be asked to provide (or be) their own model. The models DO NOT need to be

professionals. Folks of all shapes, sizes, colors, ages, and levels of experience are encouraged to participate.

• While this event is primarily an adult gathering, it is open to all ages. But also please be sure your garments have

appropriate anatomical coverage. If the FCC or your grandmother might take issue with your concept, let’s have a

chat first!

• The Right Brain Initiative has hired professional stylists to style the models and facilitate hair and makeup.

• Please only submit a design concept if you are very committed to participating. We’d hate to turn other

artists away since space is limited.

• Please let us know if you’d like to donate your garment to The Right Brain Initiative.

• All designers and models will receive free event entry as well as complimentary food and drink throughout

the course of the event. Student designers, 17 years old and younger, will also recieve a chaperone ticket.
