SPIRIT & SONG BOOKS
Holy Cross has purchased new hymnals! These hard cover books are new
edition of Spirit and Song and they replace the soft cover books that were
formerly in our pews. (The old paperback editions will be donated to the
Archdiocese for another church’s use). Not only are our new hymnals more
durable, but they also have the notes so you can follow along with our
choirs. Because of limited space in our pew racks, we will be storing the
hymnals in shelves at both entrances. Make it a habit of picking up one of
these books as you enter the church. We ask that you return them to the
shelves as you leave.
We would like to give you the opportunity of making a donation in memory
or in honour of a loved one. This memorial donation will help us with the
cost of the books. A suggested amount is $20. Please fill out the following form and place it along with
your donation in the collection basket or drop it off at the office. If you so desire, a bookplate in memory,
or in honour of a loved one, will be placed on the inside cover of the book.
We are blessed at Holy Cross to have a very strong Music Ministry and your support will help maintain
our vibrant Liturgies. Singing is praying twice!

Thank You to the Knights who helped with the Santa Maria Bingo, leading the Rosary for the 5th Sunday Mass, setting up of the Nativity Creche and organizing for the Light Up for Christ held on Dec. 1st.
A First Degree Exemplification will be held on Sunday, Dec. 20th following the 5:00 pm mass at Holy Cross Parish in the Gerein Centre for the 11 candidates who signed up to be-come a Knight of Columbus at the Information Evening last Sunday.
Any other parishioners who would like to become a Knight, please contact a Knight for an application form.

Catholics Returning Home: A ministry of Compassion and Reconciliation
Holy Cross will conduct an ongoing series called Catholics Returning Home on six consecutive Monday evenings beginning 25th, January 2016. These sessions are for non- practicing Catholics who are seeking answers to questions about returning to the Church. There will be informal sharing and an update of the
Catholic faith. We are asking each of you to make a
special effort to ask any of your non-practicing
friends, relatives or acquaintances to join us for this
series
Holy Cross Collection Envelopes are now ready for pick-up at the Gerein Center. Take note to start using these collection envelopes first week of January, 2016. Holy Rosary Cathedral is seeking a full time Maintenance Superintendent/Caretaker. A full job description will be provided. Requirements: Permanent fireman's certificate (boiler maintenance), general maintenance capabilities, must accommodate a flexible schedule, must have own trans-portation, good trouble shooting abilities needed, good people skills desirable, ability to work independently. The Simbang Gabi tradition, practised by Catholic Filipino Communities around the world, will be celebrated at Holy Child Parish, 2636 7th Ave. E., beginning Tuesday, December 15 – Wednesday, December 23 with Mass at 6 pm every day but Saturday, December 19th, where Mass will be held at the normal time of 7 pm. On Tuesday, Dec. 23, the last day of the celebration, there will be a potluck after Mass.

Little Flower Parish Full-Time Caretaker Required:
The duties and responsibilities of this position
shall be those associated with the general care, maintenance and cleanliness of the church interior, auditorium, office area and church grounds.
The caretaker must be available to work 35 flexible hours per week and to be on-call as required. This is to accommodate the religious services, meetings and functions in the parish. Possession of a Fireman’s Certificate would be an asset.
