Behavioral Health & Education Training Academy presents Introduction to Geriatric Mental Health This introductory training will support community mental health by providing aware- ness, knowledge and skills to mental health, aging, primary care and allied professionals on the biopsychosocial health related issues and risk factors of older adults and their families/ caregivers. Two eLearnings will also be required for the completion of the certificate. The Geriatric Certificate Training Program will address the following goals: Assess and determine treatment Provide services in a culturally and spiritu- ally consistent manner Provide appropriate referrals and resources Recognize the unique needs of older adults This course meets the qualifications for 23 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The Academy is ap- proved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing educa- tion for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs, Provid- er #91928. The Academy is approved by the Califor- nia Board of Registered Nursing, Provider # BRN CEP15014; CCAPP-EI, Provider # 1S-98-398-0818, and CAADE Provider # CP10-906-C0317 for 20 contact hours/CEHs. The Academy maintains re- sponsibility for this program and its content. CE certificates will be available for download 3-5 busi- ness days after course completion.
