Overview of the Bedouin PeopleTypically, Bedouins reside in Israel, Egypt, and Arabia, and migrate throughout the year depending on the climate and conditions acceptable for the animals they keep for herding. The main religions of the Bedouin people are Muslim and Christianity, and the classes are determined by either a profession or ancestry.2The Bedouin CitizensBedouin means inhabitant of the desertBedouin People Include: the traveling tribes of the Saharathe people that spend the winter in the south, and the spring and summer in the central and northern part of the countryimmigrants from Palestinegroups of gypsiesPopulation:There are about 170,000 Bedouins in the worldThe population has increased 5% since 1948

3The LocationLocation of the Bedouins- Arabia, Egypt, and IsraelIn Egypt, the Bedouins are normally located at the Sinai Peninsula.In Israel, they are usually found in the Negev Desert.However, Bedouins do not Typically stay in one place their whole life. Bedouins usually migrate to different areas mentioned above depending on the climate and the surroundings.4Religions and JobsThe main religions of the Bedouins:Most of the Bedouins are Sunni Muslims. The Muslims perform the fasting during Ramadan and the required prayers.A small portion of the Bedouin people are Christian.

What Bedouins do for a Living:Herd camels, sheep, goats, cattle5Bedouins ClassesThe Bedouin classes are divided into different classes by their career and their ancestry.It is common for people to pass from one class to another.However, a marriage between people in two different classes is not easy to do.

6The Cooking & BakingOur baking went well. We all thought the cooking was really fun too! We made Umm Ali, which is Bread Pudding, and the Bedouin Bread.

7The Cooking of The Umm AliWe made the Bread Pudding first. It is called traditionally Umm Ali. At first, the Bread Pudding was a little tart. However, when we let it sit for awhile, it was much better!

Cooking the Bedouin Bread!Next we made the Bedouin Bread. This is the bread that the Arabs starting making centuries and centuries ago. It was pretty time-consuming to make, but it was definitely worth it at the end!
