    Sleeve RufflesThe B yarn used for the ruffles is constructed like a tube.Cut a 20 in. (51 cm) length of B. Smooth out the length of B, as though smoothing a piece of fabric toopen the fabric of the yarn slightly.With sewing needle and thread, whipstitch both cut ends of the length of B to secure the raw edges.Fold the piece length of B in half lengthwise and with sewing needle and thread, sew a running st alongthe folded edge. Pull the sewing thread to make gathers and draw piece up until it measures same aswrist edge. This will begin to gather the length of B. Continue to pull the sewing thread to gather thelength of B until it measures about the same size as the lower edge of the sleeve.

    GAUGE:

    9 sts + 16 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Pattern st with A.

    BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be thesize specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes youfewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; ifmore stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
