    Edging:

After picking up /knitting your stitches all the way

round, change to smaller needles to complete the rest

    of the edging.

This is the method of picking up sts for the edging, the

total number picked up will depend on the edging you

choose. Choose which option you want to use for your

edging BEFORE beginning this and alter the total st

count as needed by adding/subtracting sts along the

back section. The first row will be knit all the way

round, then change to your edging pattern for the next

    row.

    Edging Options:

K1 p1 ribbing You must have a total number of sts

    that is divisible by 2.

K2 p2 ribbing You must have a total number of sts

that is divisible by 4 for this.

Garter stitch edging No limits on sts numbers.

Garter stitch and picot edging You must have a total

number of sts that is divisible by 3 for this.

Moss stitch edging You must have an uneven total

    number of stitches for this.

    Picking up stitches:

    You should have 50( 52, 56, 58, 62) sts for the back

section on your needles and stitch holders. You will

need to pick up 6 extra stitches evenly across the

back. I would suggest doing some at the slipped

stitches across the back especially. Join your yarn

and pick up and knit all these back stitches first.

Pick up and knit 3 sts on the other end of the back

piece (from the edges of the rows you purled and

knitted after joining the pieces). You should have59( 61, 65, 67, 71) sts.

You should then be able to pick up and knit 26 (28,

32, 34, 38) sts on the first front panel. Pick up the

side of the edge st that is closest to your increase

    bars for the neatest edging.

Undo the provisional cast on place these sts on

your left needle, knit across these 40 sts.

You should then be able to pick up and knit 26 (28,

32, 34, 38) sts on the second front panel. Pick upthe side of the edge st that is closest to your

increase bars for the neatest edging.

Pick up and knit 3 sts on the other end of your back

section. Place marker to mark the start of row.

    You should have a total of 154 (160, 172, 178, 190)

    sts.

Continue with your chosen edging instructions.
