Holy Week and Easter WorshipPreparing for Easter: A Lenten Service of Forgiveness & GraceSunday, March 24 - 6:00 pm, Sanctuary (Childcare for 3 & Under)Begin the journey of Holy Week with a service of worship to remember and give thanks for the forgiveness offered to us in Jesus Christ and to encounter God’s transforming grace.

The Stations of the Cross (Haney Hall) Sunday, March 24, 5 pm – 8 pm Monday - Saturday 8 am - 8 pm

Stations of the Cross will prepare our hearts to walk the journey with Christ, understand anew the suffering of Christ and Christ’s people, and anticipate the ultimate joy that comes to us through Christ on Easter Sunday.

Fling Open the Doors at Easter!We are blessed to have many, many guests on Easter Sunday. Here are some specific ways you can help us make our guests feel welcome:

• Open up spaces by attending Easter worship on Saturday, 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary • Park off-campus & ride the shuttle; Easter Sunday 7 am – 12:30 pm• Volunteer in the nursery (email [email protected] to find out how)• Volunteer as a greeter (email [email protected] for details)

Third Sunday Concert SeriesMarch 17, 4 pm, Chapel, (Worship at 8:30 & 9:50 am, Sanctuary)

High Road III, made up of Sarah Davison, Anna Grace Kimbrough, and Kiley Phillips, all graduates of Belmont University’s School of Music, will offer their unique musical gifts through the medium of Appalachian Gospel Music. Free and open to the public.

Love Offering for Pastor Martin & PaulaIf you would like to participate in a love offering for Pastor Martin and Paula, please make your check payable to BUMC and write “Pastor Martin Love Offering” in the memo line. Easter Lily Pick-UpIf you have ordered an Easter lily for the altar, you may pick up your lily after the 11 worship service on Easter March 31. If you are unable to pick it up then, they will be available at the receptionist desk beginning Tuesday, April 2.

Birthing Kits for UMCOR’s use in HAITI, a church-wide invitation from Brentwood United Methodist Women. We invite you to ‘live like Jesus’ by assembling these birthing kits. We need 100 bars of soap (1-2 oz. size, in original packaging; packaged hotel bars acceptable) and 200 receiving blankets (size 30” x 30” or 32” x 32”, no fleece or thermal per UMCOR instructions). A collection bin will be in the church lobby April 7 - 21 with kit assembly on Sunday, May 5, 1-3 pm. Contact Jackie Shields, [email protected] or Shirley Paris, [email protected].

Ellie’s Run for Africa - May 18Last year we had over thirty runners participate in this race so start training now to be ready for the starter’s gun! Let’s make BUMC a presence for this worthy cause. Signups to begin soon. To get on the email list, contact Mike Dennison at [email protected].

Haiti Mission Trip - June 15 - 22Be part of a 15-member team to travel to Jacmel, Haiti to assist in ongoing projects. First priority will be given to church members who have not been to Haiti previously with Restore Haiti. Parents and teenagers 15 and older welcome. Reservation requires a $200 non-refundable deposit (trip cost is $1,600). Contact: Dan Elkins 615-347-4821.

Extending the Table: Home-Centered Communion Volunteers needed to take Communion to 3-4 Home-Centered Members on the first Sunday of every month. Volunteers work in pairs, receive training, and must complete a background check. Contact Rev. Erin Racine (373-3663, ext. 244; [email protected]).
