She was the oldest living member attending our Church and had a great since of humor. I was always encouraged when I taught on Wednesday night if she liked what I taught she would say, “I liked that”. She shared how she accepted Christ years ago and has tried to live for Jesus Christ. Life was not easy after losing her husband. Our lives are so much richer to have known her and our Church blessed because she attended faithfully and took part in the Church activities and was a part of our fellow- ship. So what happens when we die or pass away? The Bible has a lot to say about death and afterwards, (Hebrews 9:27). Actually life or our existence does not end there it is just begin- ning just in a different location. If we have confessed our sins and realize the only w can be in good standing with God is by calling upon Jesus Christ to be our personal Lord and Savior, (John 3:16, Titus 3:5, John 1:12& 5:24). A true born again be- liever in Jesus Christ is escorted by Angelo immediately into the presence of the living God, (Luke 16:22, Psalm 91:11&12, Exodus 23:20). For people who that have rejected God and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ It is not good. They are es- corted immediately by Angels and condemned to Hell forever, (Luke 16:23-31). See in you in Church next Sunday. Joshua 1: 7. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and cou- rageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” 10. So Joshua or- dered the officers of the people: 11. “Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your provisions ready. Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you for your own.’” It should have taken the Children of Israel eleven to twelve days to get to the Promise Land, but because of disobedience coupled with un-belief, they spent forty years in the wilder- ness. Joshua 1: 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. With Moses now dead, it was now the changing of the Guard, and the responsibility of leadership was now being put in the hands of Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. Josh- ua’s on the job training, was watching every move that Moses made in many situations. When Moses went up to Mount Sinai and received the Ten Commandments from the Lord, Joshua went half way and waited for Moses to return. He was there when the people rebelled against the Lord and built a golden calf as an idol. He was there when Father God called the Chil- dren of Israel a “Stiff Necked People”! He was there when the Lord commanded Moses to build a bronze serpent and hold it up as a standard, for when the people walked through poisons snakes as long as they kept their eyes on the standard no one would die from being bitten from the snakes. Because, the generation before them was too afraid of what was ahead, they all chose to stay in the Wilderness for forty years and die rather than obey the leading of the Lord God. So, Joshua was handpicked by Moses and now he was put in charge of a people who were now ready to obey and cross over into the Promised Land. Joshua, appears to be afraid of the task at hand, because four times the Lord commanded him in chapter one, to be strong and to be courageous. If it was a command of God than Joshua would bank on it, for the Lord would now have his back the same as He had Moses’s back! In order to do anything for God it will take FAITH! With- out faith we cannot please God! Can you imagine the Priest who were told to take the Ark of the Covenant onto their shoulders and cross to the other side of the raging waters of the Jordon river? It was rainy season and the water was rushing out of its banks. The command of God, were as soon as their feet touched the raging waters the Jordon, the waters would stop flowing and all the people could cross over on dry land. They trusted God and HE was faithful, in keeping His Word. The lesson from Joshua: When things are confusing and hard, “Be strong and of a good courage for God is with you!

Her Gain Was Our LossBy Brother J

She recently passed away and we miss her. Our lives are so much richer to have known her and our Church blessed because she attended faithfully and took part in the Church activities and was a part of our fellow-ship.

So what happens when we die or pass away? The Bible has a lot to say about death and afterwards, (Hebrews 9:27). Actually life or our existence does not end there it is just begin-ning just in a different location. If we have confessed our sins and realize the only w can be in good standing with God is by calling upon Jesus Christ to be our personal Lord and Savior, (John 3:16, Titus 3:5, John 1:12& 5:24).
