Aviation at your CLC

• Using flight simulators to add an aviation component to your Challenger Center.

Why add an aviation component to your Challenger Learning Center ?

• Adds additional activity to your CLC• Could dovetail nicely with Missions• Aviation is full of science topics• Requires only a computer, joystick, and flight

simulator software• Aviation is far more accessible for people to explore

after being inspired at a CLC• Flying flight simulators is FUN!

• sizes,• setups, • capabilities,• variety of aircraft,• with or w/o lessons and

missions,

• and price tags!

• some are FAA approved for pilot training.

• others are not FAA approved but are just as valuable for training (sometimes better, and usually more fun!)

To get an aviation component started at your CLC you will need…

Flight Simulator

1)must look inviting, fun, exciting!2) Computer with large monitor3) Good sound system4) Joystick, but probably no foot pedals5) At least one simulator

* Microsoft flight simulator or X-Plane software

• Fighter Pilot ?• Student Pilot ?• Which aircraft to use ?• How to accomplish a

preflight briefing ?• What’s the overall learning

objectives ?
