Certification in Structural Steel Detailing
About the Course PGIS is offering a comprehensive course in Structural Steel , Rebar and Precast Detailing in collaboration with Trimble. PGIS is an authorized training partner of Trimble. This steel Detailing course intends / aims to develop the engineering professionals who are competent to work on steel detailing projects of the international fabricators including those following AISC standards . The course duration will be 3 months which includes 250 hrs of classroom training & 250 hrs of practice sessions / on job training. The course will begin with concepts of steel Detailing and orient the students towards the best practices of the steel detailing industry. During the first two months the students will be trained on technical aspects of steel detailing and basics of Tekla Software which is used for Steel Detailing. This will cover different type of steel members, awareness of design codes, different types of materials used for the steel fabrication, methods of fabrication, principles of 2D drafting. The students will get chance to develop the skills on Tekla software which is universally used for the steel detailing. The training sessions will be conducted by the engineering professionals having vast experience of working on the international steel detailing projects. During the third month the focus will be on practicing the skills learnt during first two months of the training . The students will also get a chance to practice their skills on steel detailing projects of the international standards in a mock environment.

There are also short term on site opportunities with the international fabricators.
Eligibility for the course
Degree / Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Candidates having experience to work infabrication shop or on the construction site can also opt for this course if they are willing to pursue the career in steel detailing.
