Entrepreneurship plays a very important role in the economic development. Entrepreneurs act as

catalytic agents in the process of industrialization and economic growth. The rate of economic pro-

gress of a nation depends upon its rate of innovation which in turn depends upon the distribution of

entrepreneurial talent in the population. Technological progress alone cannot lead to economic de-

velopment unless technological breakthroughs are put to economic use by entrepreneurs. It is the

entrepreneur who organizes and puts to use capital, labor and technology in the best possible man-

ner for the setting up of his enterprise.

The objective of the programme is to train and develop professionals for the promotion of Entre-

preneurship among persons and to prepare resource person for guiding and motivating young stu-

dents for taking entrepreneurship as a potential career and to expose and enlighten the participating

faculty members to comprehensive entrepreneurship development process and equip them to coor-

dinate/organize the entrepreneurship related activities in the institution and nearby region. The con-

tents of the programme are Self-directed attitudinal and behavioral changes by implementing entre-

preneurship activities and the programme involves Identification of the Business opportunity, Busi-

ness Crises Management, Human Resource Management, Communication skills etc.

Singh found the FDP to be time worthy and fruitful. The Programme ended with a self realization

need to promote entrepreneurship spirit among the youth of the nation.
