PRESENT – Scott Layton, Pam Nakoski, Caroline Nevil, Ken Mathis, Tonya McFadden and Jim Spelman ALSO PRESENT – Andy Doell, Scott Donnelly, Kathy Taylor, Kateri Warren, Karen Soanes, Dan McAlpin, Nick Fargnoli, Elizabeth Falsone, Ann Alden, Keith Roll, Amy Harvey, Gene Harvey, Kristen Dumbauld, Michael Rechtin, Shawn Beard, Phyllis Rechtin, Jim Rechtin, Leif HerrGesell, Ellie Pleace, Vickie Miller, Chloe Miller, Michael Miller, Julie Wright, Cynthia Schoenheit, John Grundman, Joe Flansburg, Margaret Pixley, Josh Farrelman and Debbie Robinson STUDENT RECOGNITIONS Sixth Grade Students Ann Alden and Keith Roll, sixth grade teachers introduced sixth grade students that participated in a region wide professionalized learning conference. The students taught teachers and administrators about the leadership program that is used in their sixth grade classroom. Fourth Grade Students Beth Falsone, fourth grade teacher, and fourth grade students presented their collaboration of an engineering project with the East Bloomfield Historical Society and the Antique Wireless Museum. Mrs. Falsone shared that they received a PTSA Grant and the class used the grant to create a bicycle driven generator. Mrs. Falsone thanked Mr. Miller for his help with the project. Pam Nakoski, Board President, thanked the East Bloomfield Historical Society and the Antique Wireless Museum for collaborating with the students in a partnership to make it happen. Nick Fargnoli, Elementary Principal, acknowledged Mrs. Falsone for going above and beyond and how extremely proud he was of the class. Spelling Bee Andy Doell, Superintendent, recognized Ty Naffziger and Gavin Steger for representing the district in the regional Spelling Bee. Mr. Doell noted that the students competed against the top spellers from several districts. STAFF RECOGNITIONS Andy Doell, Superintendent recognized the Shawn Beard, John Grundman, Robin Fitzgerald, Doug Ehmer, Bernie McGory, Joe Rayburn and Joe Flansburg for their early morning on the job plowing driveways and sidewalks as well as shoveling and salting. Mr. Doell noted how appreciative of all they do and recognized their effort and hard work. Andy Doell, Superintendent, recognized Debbie Robinson, for Administrative Assistant’s Day. 30, 2023, at an annual salary of $48,002 (Step 1B27), if eligible for tenure at end of probationary period, which is dependent on receiving APPR ratings of H or E in 3 of 4 preceding years (and no I rating in final year).

• Appointment of Nathan Taylor, technology teacher, effective July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2023, at an annual salary of $47,341 (Step 3B), if eligible for tenure at end of probationary period, which is dependent on receiving APPR ratings of H or E in 3 of 4 preceding years (and no I rating in final year).

• Leave of absence of Caitlin Chan, teacher, effective July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020 as a teacher on special assignment.

• Correction to Motion #331: Jason Tortorici, spring orchestra member, change stipend to $300. The following resolutions were offered for approval, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools:

• Senior trip to New York City, September 27, 2019 through September 29, 2019. • Melissa von Ditfurth-Siefken, foreign exchange student from Germany for the 2019-2020 school

year. Kateri Warren, Director of Pupil Personnel Services shared that a host family is still needed. • BOCES Administrative Budget Vote and Board Candidate Election.

DEBRIEF

Jim Spelman, Board Vice President - Facilities Committee met to plan for top priority work for the next capital project. - Board will be taking staff nominations for the Marion Hallock Award that will be presented at

graduation.

Andy Doell, Superintendent - District is exploring the Teacher Immersion Fellows Program (TIF) which is a partnership

between Rochester Area Colleges, Monroe2-Orleans BOCES and local public school districts. The program would place graduate and undergraduate students in districts as paid substitutes. Mr. Doell thanked Scott Donnelly for exploring the option and presenting it to the Leadership Team.

- Received a letter from the East Bloomfield Highway Department and East Bloomfield Historical Society thanking Felice Prindle, Guidance Counselor and the IB-CAS students for the great work they did on the spring clean-up day. Mr. Doell thanked the group for representing the high school and District so well.

- May 2, 2019 and May 8, 2019, Matt Zaborowski, a Bloomfield Graduate and a graduate student in public health, will offer students in third grade and their parents an educational program regarding oral health, its connection to overall health, and important preventive strategies to ensure health and wellness.

- Acknowledged Dan McAlpin, Secondary Principal; Dyson Williamson, SRO, and Molly Bailey, Prevention Educator for hosting a mock crash event for seniors and juniors. Mr. Doell acknowledged Kevin Rickett from the Bristol Fire Department and Peter Koppmann from East Bloomfield Fire Department for their help in arranging the first responders for the event.

Mr. McAlpin, secondary principal, shared that Sheriff Henderson noted it was very impactful. Mr. McAlpin shared that the students met with counselors after the mock crash to debrief. - Shared that Ana Eveleigh, Bloomfield Senior has been selected as a finalist for the 2019 Young

Women of Distinction Award. - Recognized Scott Donnelly, Business Administrator for being awarded a scholarship to attend

the SBO Leadership Academy. - Mr. Doell acknowledged Mitchell Bostian and Robin Fitzgerald for all their work to clean up the

Elementary School courtyard. Mr. Doell noted that Kristy Freeman’s class will be taking over the upkeep of the courtyard.

- Mr. Doell and Mr. Donnelly will be attending the 3rd Annual Ontario County Municipal Summit.

Kateri Warren, Director of Pupil Personnel Services - District is still looking for volunteers to help out at the Special Olympics on May 17, 2019.

Pam Nakoski, Board President - Reminded members that the Four County annual meeting is May 20, 2019. Four County is also

looking for topics of interest for upcoming trainings.
