BCMA Instructional Agenda

This Week in Latin Sequential / Latin I with Ms. Kirk

A few major points of relevance this year:

Technology is a daily part of our class, please allow your students to bring their cell phones, tablets, laptops, and any internet-ready technological device with them on the day they have Latin.

All students will be given a Stage Packet corresponding to each chapter in the text book. If they lose their packet, they may purchase a new one from Ms. Kirk for $2

Parent signup and interaction on Class Dojo will be a PROJECT GRADE (15%) every grading cycle. There are 2 vocabulary-building resources I would like to emphasize for student usage:

1. Quizlet – I have made my own sets, but if you search Cambridge Latin Course you will find premade sets for each stage. I am working on creating classes in Quizlet to monitor engagement and practice.

2. Memrise – search Cambridge Latin Course under courses ; I REALLY like this tool

HINT: There may be extra-credit and rewards for the students who practice using these tools! Padlet is an essential part of class. Many warm-ups, discussions, notes, and class activities that will serve as valuable study aids will be done on Padlet. I advise all students and parents to download the app on their tablet and/or smart phone. I advise the same for Class Dojo for communication. I also use it to post helpful links, extra credit, and information about what your students are working on in class. Quizlet and Memrise are also downloadable apps.
