Opal Shelving is available in a variety of heights, widths, and depths. This system offers a refreshing view of shelving. The stand out and namesake of this product are the Opalescent tempered glass end panels. Additionally, this shelving offers UL approved light fixtures, unique perforated steel components, and highly sought after display and storage components, while still offering the versatility and flexibility found in more traditional steel shelving. This shelving system is a three post form, where the center post suspends and secures component brackets for both shelving faces.

The Opal Shelving System has several quite unique features.Despite its prominent characteristics, it has been designed insuch a way as to allow its idiom to match other types of furni-ture and different surroundings. For instance it is possible touse different solutions for the end panels – in glass, steel, orwood – intermediate walls and top shelves – in steel or woodwith or without signage profile – as well as integrated light-ing. In addition, the steel end panel features a slit to allowintegration of signs.
The Opal Shelving System isBCI's latest steel shelving sys-tem – designed as a frameconstruction. One of Opal'smost prominent features isits spaciousness. Not just inthe literal sense, but also inthe sense that it can eitherbe given a completely uniqueexpression or be adapted toblend unobtrusively into anyexisting space. In concreteterms, this adaptability ismatched by the stabilitywhich is one of the primarycharacteristics of the frameconstruction.
The philosophy behind thisshelving system is that itshould be easy to make itemphasise an architecturalstatement. Opal should be ableto embrace a wide variety ofarchitectural expressions –while always remaining trueto itself.

The shelving system consists of a starter moduleand a number of add-on modules – available inboth single and double-sided versions. The angledtension supports ensure the structural stability ofthe shelving system. The angled tension supportsmay be replaced by intermediate panels.
Opal's end panels canbe fitted on an exist-ing frame. This ensuresincreased flexibility in the form of easyfitting onto existingconfigurations, orreplacement of exist-ing end panels.

Opal is available as standard in four heights, three depths andthree module widths. The dimensions are shown on the backpage.
BCI's wide range of shelves, cabinets and browers can also beused with Opal.
The Opal Furniture Concept also includes signs, study and com-puter desks, and lighting accessories.

The module width of the shelving system is 90 cm. The most frequently used components also comein width of 75 cm and 100 cm.
