DONOR INFORMATION The papers of Russell S. Bauder were donated to the University of Missouri by Russell Bauder in seven separate accessions between the years 1958 and 1971, (Accession nos. 3367, 3422, 3490, and 3746.1-4). RESTRICTIONS Consult the reference staff about the restriction on this collection. BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH Russell S. Bauder was born in Elburn, Illinois, August 20, 1902. He received his B.S. degree at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and he earned his doctoral degree in economics at the University of Wisconsin in 1934. He began teaching at the University of Missouri as an economics instructor in 1927 and became a full professor in 1940. He retired as a Professor of Marketing and Economics in 1971. Bauder served as an arbitrator and worked on several government boards, including the War Labor Board of World War II. In 1951 he was named to the federal Wage Stabilization Board. He also served on the National Panel of Arbitrators and the Mediation and Conciliation Arbitration Panel. Bauder died March 14, 1987, in Sun City, Arizona.
