Minimal damage was reported. A 28-year-old Hoopeston man reported at 8:30 a.m. Friday that someone damaged the front window of his home in the 300 block of West Penn. A 23-year-old Hoopeston woman reported at 11 a.m. Friday that her wallet was stolen in the 600 block of East Thompson. Kenneth C. Torres, 26, of Hoopeston, turned him- self in to police at 6:45 p.m. Friday. Wanted on a Vermilion County traffic warrant, he was released on bond with a new date in traffic court. Baskets, quilts, other gifts at annual UMC Women bazaar Hoopeston First United Methodist Church annual Heavenly Hosts Bazaar is Saturday, Oct. 31. Coffee and coffee cake will be served from 8-10 a.m., followed by a soup and sandwich lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the gift basket bazaar you have been wait- ing to attend! The most creative and beautiful bas- kets containing wonderful gifts are available for all ages, so do your Christmas shopping here. There are more than 100 baskets available for purchase. The baskets, quilts, ornaments and clever crafts will be on display in the chapel area of the church. Do not miss the bake sale in the fellowship hall that will have treats galore including homemade candy, cookies, cakes, pies, and surprises. Before you leave the building be sure to check the basement for this year’s gleanings of family treas- ures many of which are suitable for gift giv- ing. Rumor has it that someone is sorting through their collection of primitive decorations as well as puzzles, books and knickknacks. The bazaar is sponsored by Hoopeston United Methodist Women. Proceeds are used to partially fund local and away missions. The church is at 403 East Main Street, Hoopeston.
