Work on proposed Palmetto Pipeline suspended because of Georgia moratorium, owner saysThe Texas-based company planning to build a $1 billion pipeline to carry gasoline and diesel fuel from Belton, S.C., through Georgia to Jacksonville announced Wednesday on its website that it has “suspended further work” on the project. It blames action by the Georgia General Assembly which passed legislation this month keeping the company from seeking environmental permits or other licenses until July, 2017. Supporters of the moratorium bill said it was aimed at stopping the pipeline. (Ga Trend)
Top Georgia court rules for private probation companyPeople on probation for minor offenses still have to serve their entire sentence, even if something happens to interrupt their sentence, according to a decision the Georgia Supreme Court handed down last week. In its Friday 6-1 ruling, the court agreed with Sentinel Offender Services, the state’s largest private probation company, in a case affecting thousands of people on probation before a 2015 law change. Cities across the state contract with the company and others like it to supervise people on probation for misdemeanors, like traffic offenses.(Ga Trend)
Braves plan zip line at SunTrust ParkThe Atlanta Braves are working on the latest new attraction for SunTrust Park — a Zip Line. During Atlanta Business Chronicle and Atlanta Sports Council’s annual Business of Sports Summit on Friday, Derek Schiller, Braves’ executive vice president of sales and marketing, said the Zip Line is part of an attempt to enhance the fan experience at the new ballpark. Georgia to have own intelligence center to enhance state securityTwo days after deadly terrorists attacks in Brussels, Georgia created a centralized intelligence center. Thursday’s vote to pass Senate Bill 416 by Senate Majority Leader Bill Cowsert, R-Athens, set in motion the administration’s plan to enhance state security. The new “fusion center” with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation will gather intelligence reports from local and state agencies about suspected threats, both criminal and terroristic. (Ga Trend)
‘One shot at the queen’: FBI, AG intensify focus on Clinton email probeAs the FBI enters the final phases of its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of an unauthorized email server for government business, Attorney General Loretta Lynch and FBI Director James Comey are meeting frequently to discuss the progress and handling of the highly sensitive case, a source told Fox News. Among the issues discussed in the meetings, which have been taking place several times per week, are who will be interviewed and in what order, according to an intelligence source close to the ongoing case. Emails released by the State Department have already shown Clinton and several key aides used the personal, unsecured network to send more than 1,000 messages which have been deemed classified. “In a case like this you get one shot at the queen,” the source, who was not authorized to speak on the record, said referring to Clinton, the former secretary of state and current front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination. “The pressures are enormous on the agents, as the case has to be airtight and perfect.”

Special Operations Airman receives Bronze Star
HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. -- A Bronze Star Medal was awarded to a Hurlburt Field Airman during a ceremony here, March 24, for distinctive accomplishments on a recent deployment.
Master Sgt. Marty Pallone, the knowledge operations section chief with the 1st Special Operations Communications Squadron, was recognized by Col. Sean Farrell, the commander of the 1st Special Operations Wing, for going above and beyond her duties while engaged in overseas contingency operations.
“Marty comes to us with a great career, a great record, doing great things for our Air Force; working high profile jobs, working for Gen. Goldfein up at Langley,” said Farrell. “We know, Marty, you’re going to do great things here at Hurlburt Field.”
The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to a person in any branch of military service who, while serving in any capacity with the armed forces of the United States, distinguished themselves by heroic or meritorious achievement or service in connection with military operations against an armed enemy. The award recognizes acts of heroism performed in ground combat.
“Communicators do not often see folks earn a Bronze Star, I think they associate those with other career fields,” said Lt. Col. Scott McGovern, the commander of the 1st SOCS. “What Master Sgt. Pallone did really shows our Airmen there are a lot of things they can do to provide that support and different ways they can excel. This is a huge message for them to understand that there’s a lot of different oportunities out there and that no matter what your Air Force specialty code is, you can go and do great things and get recognized for it.”
Pallone worked as the executive assistant to senior leadership in the 438th Air Expeditionary Wing during an 11-month deployment.
While exposed to significant danger from rocket attacks and insider threats, Pallone routinely left the safety of the forward operating base to provide armed over watch security for the wing command chief during his battlefield circulations and key leader engagements.
She also coordinated meetings and conferences between the wing command chief and the command sergeant major of the Afghan Air Force resulting in the first employment of Afghan led aerial fires and elimination of countless insurgents.
Isakson Defends Veterans’ Second Amendment RightsDemands answers from VA Secretary on department practice that wrongly prevents some eligible veterans from owning firearms
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., chairman of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, is questioning a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) practice that violates the Second Amendment rights of former military service members.
In a letter to VA Secretary Robert McDonald, Isakson, along with Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is urging the VA to change its process of unnecessarily reporting names of some veterans to the Department of Justice’s National Instant Criminal Background
In addition, Pallone supported the Afghan Air Force gender integration initiative.
“Once a week we would go and meet with the women in the Afghan Air Force to play volleyball or just talk,” said Pallone. “I taught them English, and I think they helped distract me from missing home.”
As a result of Pallone’s contributions to the initiative, she was able to overcome gender stereotypes and was a catalyst to 35 women joining the Afghan Air Force.
“These ladies truly wanted to make a difference in their country and their families,” said Pallone. “They wanted to be something their children could be proud of, and I guess I saw a little of myself in them.”
Following an attack that took the lives of three American contractors, Pallone joined the armed roving patrol team and provided armed security for flightline operations.
“Not having the defenders we needed, we acted as security forces,” said Pallone. “We patrolled the flightline, cleared buildings and ensured people took cover when they needed too.”
Vastly outnumbered by the insider threats, she established a defensive posture on the Afghan flightline, defending a 13-acre battlespace and 300 coalition military and contractors from future insider threats.
Finally, Pallone endured and responded to two major vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonations against the installation as well as a major, five-hour insurgent assault on the base; all attackers were neutralized with zero coalition casualties.
“It’s an honor to know that the General and the Chief think so highly of me,” said Pallone. “But I know being honored today is much more than just about me; it’s about all the men and women who wear this medal, it’s about my son, my daughters and family. I may have been the one over there, but they’re the ones who made the real sacrifice.”

(Continued from page 3) WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Isakson, R-Ga
Check System (NICS), a national registry that effectively bans people on the list from owning firearms.
“It is essential to ensure that the process by which the VA reports names to the Department of Justice for placement on the NICS list recognizes and protects the fundamental nature of veterans’ rights under the Second Amendment,” the senators wrote. “Under the current practice, a VA finding that concludes that a veteran requires a fiduciary to administer benefit payments effectively voids his Second Amendment rights—a consequence which is wholly unrelated to and unsupported by the record developed in the VA process.”
The VA has the authority to determine whether a veteran is competent to manage his or her own VA benefits and financial affairs. If a veteran is found to be unable to manage his or her financial affairs by the VA, is it current VA practice to require the veteran to appoint another person to administer benefits payments, called a fiduciary.
Once the VA requires the appointment of a fiduciary, the VA automatically reports the veteran to the Department of Justice’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System list. However, federal law states that only those who have been determined a “mental defective” should be reported to this registry.
It appears, however, that the VA does not determine whether a veteran is a danger to themselves or to others before submitting a name to the gun ban list. As a result, veterans who are not a danger to themselves or to others are nonetheless prevented from owning or possessing a firearm.
Automatically placing veterans on the gun ban list without a determination that they are a danger to themselves or to others is a violation of veterans’ Second Amendment rights. Isakson and Grassley are demanding answers from Secretary McDonald to explain his rationale for linking financial arrangements to public safety, citing reporting standards and due process concerns.

FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT
The year is 2020 and the United States has elected the first woman as well as the first Jewish president, Susan Goldstein. She calls up her mother a few weeks after Election Day and says, “So, Mom, I assume you’ll be coming to my inauguration?”“I don’t think so. It’s a ten-hour drive, your father isn’t as young ashe used to be, and my arthritis is acting up again.”“Don’t worry about it, Mom, I’ll send Air Force One to pick you up and take you home. And a limousine will pick you up at your door.”“I don’t know. Everybody will be so fancy-schmantzy; what on earth would I wear?”Susan replies, “I’ll make sure you have a wonderful
gown, custom-made by the best designer in New York.”“Honey,” Mom complains, “you know I can’t eat those rich foods you and your friends like to eat.”The President-to-be responds, “Don’t worry Mom. The entire affair is going to be handled by the best caterer in New York; kosher all the way. Mom, I really want you to come.”So Mom reluctantly agrees and on January 20, 2021, Susan Goldstein is being sworn in as President of the United States. In the front row sits the new President’s mother, who leans over to a Senator sitting next to her and says, “You see that woman over there with her hand on the Torah, becoming President of the United States?”The Senator whispers back, “Yes, I do.”Mom says proudly, “Her brother is a doctor.”

Psalms 25:12
What makes a person acceptable to God? The path to redemption begins not with the decision to live a better life or to stop doing something wrong, but with the realization that we cannot correct our sinful nature. To find favor with the
Lord, we must grasp that it’s impossible to make ourselves righteous; instead, we need to depend on the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf. When we trust in Christ as our Savior, God the Father applies the benefit of Jesus’ atoning sacrifice to our sin debt, thereby making us “saved,” or acceptable in His eyes.
Your good works and righteous acts are of absolutely no value in the mind of God. Compared to others’ actions, your generosity and good works might seem like enough to bring favor with the Lord,
but Jesus said, “Not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” (Eph. 2:9). When you stand before God, the only way you can be forgiven of your sins is through Jesus Christ and His sacrificial, substitutionary atoning death at Calvary. Jesus came to give His life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).
Jesus’ public crucifixion was a demonstration of God’s hatred for sin and immense love for mankind. He who was blameless bore the penalty for all in order that wicked, corrupt
people could be made righteous.
No matter what you’ve done, you can be cleansed of the stain left by sin. Confess any known transgressions and turn from them; then Jesus will forgive you and write your name in the Lamb’s Book of Life (1 John 1:9; Rev. 21:27). By trusting in Him, you are assured of eternity in His presence
Ecclesiastes 3:17
I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.”

8 ounces wide egg noodles 2 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion 1/3 cup chopped carrot 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 3/4 cups fat-free milk 1/2 cup (4 ounces) 1/3-less-fat cream cheese, softened 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1 cup frozen peas, thawed 1/2 cup (2 ounces) grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, divided 2 (5-ounce) cans albacore tuna in water, drained and flaked Cooking spray
Preparation
1. Preheat broiler.
2. Cook noodles according to package directions, omitting salt and fat. Drain. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add oil to pan; swirl to coat.
