-Your name comes from your parents. Your name connects you to who you are. If you change your name you break with your heritage.

-In business: Does it matter if you change the name?

Martin and Garcia Burnham were taken captive by Abusayaf several years ago. The kidnapping took place at a popular resort in Palawan called Dos Palms. After the incidence the resort changed its name.

Sometimes it is necessary to change a name!

In this case the name changed help to disassociate the past from the present.

“Starbucks”, “Procter and Gamble”, “Colgate”, etc.

The name recognition helps to sell the product because it is associated with quality, reliability, old and well established, etc.

Branding is successful when a potential customer immediately thinks of a brand name when discussing a general product.

If the discussion is about coffee and the first brand that comes to mind is

“Starbucks” then the company has been successful in marketing the product.
