The RequirementAs part of our existing long-standing relationship with the customer, we were invited in to discuss an opportunity to redesign one of the floors on their Swindon site.

The scope was to utilise the space in the most efficient way, thus increasing head count and changing the use of the floor completely. The space available included a number of structural considerations as there were a number of metal posts within the floor that we needed to work around.

The SolutionOur initial discussions took place in early 2013 with a brief provided by the customer. This included the scope and budget of the project, as well as a timeline for completion.

Taking these aspects into consideration, we provided them with advice on the latest space saving desking ranges, suitable to the budget they had available and considering the style and overall appearance of the office that the customer required.

Product selection was narrowed down to a couple of options in June and we then began to provide drawings and quotations following that. Quotations and plans were revised and amended as decisions were made regarding layouts and product specifications and as is normal with a project of this size and complexity, the final revisions were being made right up until the order was placed with the manufacturer in August.

The ResultThe installation was carried out on an agreed weekend to ensure minimal disruption for the customer and to meet the needs of the customer’s other internal partners working alongside us on the project. The office staff were able to leave work on Friday and return to a newly installed office layout on Monday morning.

We continue to support this customer with ongoing requirements for this office, ensuring that any future purchases are made in keeping with the style and requirements of the initial project.
