Flexiform worked with John Dunn from leading fit-out specialists Workspace Interiors Limited to design the interior ‘agile working’ spaces for DLL Group in Watford. As a growing financial solutions provider, creating more flexible, multi-purpose workspaces became vital to the effective use of the existing space, and enabled them to stay in their current location rather than take on the expense and disruption of a move.

In order to design the correct solution for DLL Group, and create the appropriate feel and function for the space, our project manager Ashely Linden-New set up a meeting in the Flexiform London showroom to discuss the outline brief for the scheme. We quickly realised that this needed an element of bespoke design, and with John’s assistance, as well as help from the Workspace Interiors designer Kim Whitmore, we were able to sketch up a design for the various elements of the package.

We then fed this to our interior space planning and CAD team in Bradford, who produced rendered visuals of each product so that the client could really understand how we were planning to make the plans a reality.

DLL Group was the first to install our new Olio range from Flexiform, created specifically with their

needs in mind, and combining highly space- efficient storage solutions with workstations and ad hoc seating and meeting locations. We also provided the Additions range of flexible meeting room tables to ensure that these spaces complimented the ‘agile working’ principle.

To complete the package, the new Freestor Accent locker system was provided to give local and nomadic users personal storage as and when it was needed.

After a couple of amendments, the product was approved and integrated into the wider scheme. This also involved the creation of some new tea points and collaborative workspaces, and some re-stacking of the floor to create enough room to utilise this new furniture and working practice. This process was managed by John at Workspace.

Once agreed and signed off, the furniture was put into production. Full production drawings were issued at this stage for a final sign off, with the appropriate finishes and fabrics indicated also. The Flexiform installation team delivered and commissioned the product, and the general response has been excellent. The Olio range is now offered as a product available to all Flexiform customers
