    Your guide to our chargesIf you have a personal account at any of our UK branches, this guidetells you everything you need to know about our main fees andcharges. You might find it helpful to keep it with your bank statements

    and use it to plan ahead and avoid unnecessary fees.

    Unless you pay a monthly fee for an account withadded benefits, we dont normally charge you foreveryday banking providing your account is incredit. There are some events, however, like usingyour cards abroad, where there may be charges.This guide will tell you exactly how the charges work,and when they may be applied.

    If you want to use a service we havent covered here,well always let you know before you are charged.If we make any changes to fees or services youregularly use well always let you know in advance.

    When charges are appliedDifferent fees are taken from your account atdifferent times. For example, regular fees like monthly

    account or benefit package fees will come out of youraccount at the end of your monthly billing period.

    This is usually from the second working day of eachmonth to the first working day of the next month, butit can vary. If youd like to check what your monthlybilling period is please just ask us in branch, or call uson .

    There are some charges that are made at the time we

    provide you with the service, for example, when youuse your debit card abroad.

    Other charges, such as the Monthly Overdraft UsageFee, overdraft interest or Unplanned Overdraft DailyFees, are worked out at the end of the monthly billingperiod and well always let you know the amountbefore they are taken from your account.

    If you change an account or service that has a regularfee attached to it, such as a monthly account fee, part

    way through your billing period, youll only pay for thetime youve actually had it.

    OverdraftsAn overdraft is where, as part of our service, we are willing to lendyou money through your current account. We provide two types ofoverdraft: a Planned Overdraft and an Unplanned Overdraft.

    If you decide you need an overdraft, you can ask us inadvance for a Planned Overdraft on certain accounts.You can also ask to increase an existing PlannedOverdraft limit at any time. You must be or overto have a Planned Overdraft.

    How much we lend, if anything, depends on ourassessment of your personal circumstances.Lloyds Bank is a responsible lender and we onlywant you to borrow what you can afford and in away that is best for you.

    If you try to make a payment but do not have enoughavailable funds in your account or sufficient PlannedOverdraft, we will treat this as a request for anUnplanned Overdraft to cover that payment. We willeither agree to your request or you will not be able tomake that payment. Fees will normally be charged ineither case. Please see condition in Your Banking

    Relationship with us, the Personal Banking Termsand Conditions, for more details about overdrafts andavailable funds.

    You will also normally be charged interest if you usea Planned or Unplanned Overdraft. All overdrafts arerepayable on demand.

    Interest payable on overdraftsThe same rate of interest is currently payable for bothPlanned and Unplanned Overdrafts. The rate you paywill depend on the type of current account you havewith us. Please note that although the same rate ofinterest is payable, the fees are different.

    Please see the Overdraft fees section for details.

    Overdraft buffersOur overdraft buffers are designed to give you a bit offlexibility with your overdraft. A buffer is an additionalinterest and fee-free overdraft amount that we mayprovide on a Planned or Unplanned Overdraft we letyou have. We have two types of buffer outlined below.Details of the accounts which may provide a buffer

    and the amount and type of buffer available can befound on the page opposite.

    Planned buffersA Planned buffer is an additional amount of anyPlanned Overdraft that we give you over any interestand fee-free amount.

    Unplanned buffersAn Unplanned buffer is an additional interestand fee-free amount we apply over the limit ofyour Planned Overdraft if we agree to providean Unplanned Overdraft.

    Cheque clearing processCheques go through a clearing process so the amountyou pay in may not be available to use straight-away.

    The clearing cycle means that when you pay in asterling cheque from another bank in the UK, the Isleof Man, Gibraltar or Channel Islands (the paying bank)into your personal account with us:

    i. we will show the cheque in your account on thesame day that we receive it;

    ii. from the second working day after we receive it,we start paying any interest on the cheque if yourcurrent account pays credit interest (or using it toreduce the debit interest you pay);

    iii. from the fourth working day after we receive it, thefunds are available for you to use but the chequemay still be returned unpaid up until the sixthworking day after we receive it; and

    iv. from the end of the sixth working day after wereceive it, if the cheque is returned unpaid by the

    paying bank, we cannot take money from youraccount without your consent unless you haveacted fraudulently.

    So, for example, if you pay in a non-Lloyds Bankcheque on a Monday, you will see it on your accountthe same day, it counts towards any interest onWednesday, you can use the money on Friday and wecannot take the payment out of your account afterthe following Tuesday.

    Please speak to a member of staff if you would likemore details.
