Band Project• Your teacher will put you into 4 groups

• Number each person in your group 1 – 4

In 2 weeks time your band will be performing in front of thousands at T in the Park…

With such short notice you need to work hard as a band to be able to practise and perform 1 song in front of your fans!

How you do it is up to YOU!

Everyone...

…Is a member of the band…Is required to play an instrument or sing in the band…Will perform their chosen song in front of the class on Thursday 5th Dec…Must work together as a team

Individual Roles

• Band Manager

• Band Roadie

• Music Coach

• Time Keeper

• Band Manager 4

• Band Roadie 2

• Music Coach 3

• Time Keeper 1

(If there are more than 4 people in the group then person 5 and/or 6 is also a music coach)

Band Manager:

• Make final decisions on what your band needs, to successfully perform the song of your choice

• If there is anything you are unsure of, you speak to your manager (the teacher!)

Band Roadie:

• Make sure your band has all the resources they need to practice and perform their song

Music Coach:

• Give advice on which instruments should be used in your band and suggest ways of learning the song

Time Keeper:

• Keep your band on track by keeping an eye on the time and making sure your band works efficiently

Practice 1

• Decide which instruments your band will play (5 min)

• Research your piece of music by:• Listening to the recording• Looking it up on the internet• Finding lyrics• Finding chords

(20 min)

Practice 2

• Find lyrics(10 min)

• Start figuring out different instrument parts

(35 min)

Practice 3

• Practise your parts individually (20 min)

• Your teacher will listen to each band (25 min)

Practice 4

• Make sure you have all the resources you need for the final performance

(5 min)

• Have a final practice!
